A Pub Lunch Adventure In WALES: The Angel Inn, Maudlam (A Delicious Way to Experience Welsh Culture)

We visit the Angel Inn, Maudlam near Porthcawl. In the first video of our country pub adventure around South Wales.
We hope to show you some of Wales and what the UK is like outside London. The beautiful countryside as well as the traditional British pub.
We hope to be doing a few of these Welsh pub trips over the next few months as the weather improves.
The Angel Inn is the site of an early medieval leper hospital dating from the 13th century.
It was probably a shelter for people travelling to the St David's shrine, West Wales to be cured.

Always have excellent food and service at The Angel. The pods are great for business lunches and the bar is dog friendly - great after a long walk across the dunes. The sister pub, The Pelican, is also fantastic.

Yes, chips and rice must be a Welsh thing my Welsh husband Mark loves that and something he calls a chip butty. In America, I grew up eating one starch )either rice or potato with a meat and a vegetable. Love to you both glad to see Mel. Thank you for sharing looking forward to more videos.

wow not been there for over 30 years,that was our fav place when on leave from the army a quick walk from Pyle,it has changed a hell of a lot tho.

We went there quite a few times during the nice summer evenings we had last year, great spot and walks from there over the dunes.

@@flydriveexplore i spent many years living down the rd in Cornelly.there was about 10 of us male & female all in the pyle Army cadets we were up the dunes camping many times,as most of us us joined the forces we would all try and meet up on leave and the Angel it was.,it was a bowl of chips in them days and a dodgy walk home drunk.
