He himself said in 1996 the Republicans wouldn't let him speak at his own party's convention. Probably didn't want to tick of Sheldon Adelson and their other paymasters.

Pat is the best I've ever seen at taking tough questions head on. A man of conviction need not be ashamed of his views, if he has thought them through with an open mind.

*I disagreed with many of Buchanan's minutia, but he was the only (1) honest, (2) consistent, (3) forward looking politician, and I would have felt good about voting for him. I hated the Clintons - both then and now. The Clintons did more damage to this country than every other swamp dweller in history - possibly more than all of them combined.*

1st generation American, son of immigrants, not white. I've agreed 95% with Pat Buchanan since I was a teenager. I helps "Go Pat Go' signs at a rally in the early 90s, own all his books and religiously used to watch Crossfire (remember?) back in the day. Man he was so right on. Now, slowly, America is one giant trailer park, ghetto, and barrio that has taken control of the country socially--and it reverberates into other parts of society too. It's over now.

I was only 10 or 12 years old when Pat was in the spotlight, and just thought he was a corny religious kook based on how he was portrayed in media. I can go back and watch this stuff with adult eyes and holy crap, he was right on everything. Real American.

I'm an old-fashioned Leftist of the Alexander Cockburn/Ralph Nader type and many of my fellows on the Left are always surprised and ask 'why' when I say I LIKE Pat Buchanan despite disagreeing with him on many issues. There are a couple of reasons for this: 1) Despite my being on the Left and him being on the Right our economic outlooks are not all that different. In fact, after spending decades as a devoted 'free trader', Pat has come closer to my own economic views after he saw the RESULTS of 'free trade' on the American rust belt. Pat might be for free trade within the United States but he's dead set against forcing American workers to compete against cheap foreign labor. And this is exactly what the corporate lobbyists have enabled with their crooked 'free trade agreements'. 2) Pat Buchanan is one of the FEW members of the Right that has refused to bow his knee to Tel Aviv. I think we can all guess the religious/ethnic persuasion of most of the people in the audience who asked those vicious loaded questions. In fact, I'm pretty sure that the first guy was a young Ben Shapiro. Even back then he had that nasally weasel voice.

I met Pat at the Hotel Ft Des Moines in the late 1990's. I was dumbstruck by how gracious he was. He warmly shook my hand and looked me steadily in the eye and asked me something about myself with genuine interest and concern. I, a stranger, among the hundreds of people Pat met each week. Of the thousands of people I've met over the years, none have exhibited such a level of graciousness as Pat Buchanan.
