Roger, you just said it. The humidity is a lot higher in our environment at this moment. If you have rain, half a day later it's here in the Netherlands... My humidity circles around 85-95% at night... I keep the door to the greenhouse open nowadays for airflow and cooling down. The plants thrive well on it. It's risky I know. 😊 By day it's going down to 55% by sun, but with these rainy days it hits 85%.

With these wet days, I'm getting about 22C during the day and 17-18 at night - perfect for the cooler growers but not so good for those that like it warmer. The de-humidifier keeps it down to 65% at night.

Perhaps another good idea is, after a week or two of re adjustment, a new plant is repotted into your own pot and media then you would find out it's in solid moss with hardly any drainage. I think quite a few are lost through thinking that leaving them is 'easier' 🤷‍♀️

Repotting a weak root system will often finish it off. Better to wait for new roots then at least the lost roots are being replaced - and just be careful with watering until then.

Question: Cochlioda vulcanica... I just bought it last month, wood mounted, one of the spent blooms now has a swelling at the base. What is happening there?

ahhh I'm so jealous of your rain! It's been in the 90's (~35°C) for the last couple weeks and we typically won't get any rain until late October. Do you ever open up the door or windows in the grow room when it's nice out? Maybe turn on the dehumidifier at night or open up if it's not bad out. Does the hotbox help with keeping the mold at bay?

I can only use the hotbox in dull weather as all the fans have to be off - not sure if it stops the mold as I'm not using it often enough through the summer.

Why not invest in a dehumidifier during the high humidity periods? It might save you all that work hopefully.
