A QUICK REPAIR OF MY VINTAGE PHILIPS CD 104 CD PLAYER

From around 1984, these are lovely CD players with a really nice sound. Thy can be unreliable if not taken care of. My player works intermittently. So I decided to attempt some repairs.
The oversampling bypass bodge shown at 02:36 was purchased on eBay some time ago
Other work done:
All electrolytic caps replaced.
New op amps
decent RCA connectors fitted.
Several circuit board interconnects repaired/replaced
Tray adjusted to enable smoother closing, especially at the end of the drawer close. I achieved this by gently levering up the mechanism containing the little white nylon wheel on the top of the CDM-1 tray unit

Do you know the size/length of the transport screws and how they fit in?

no I don't sorry. I did have them about 20 years ago but long since lost. I believe they go either side of the laser assembly but best check this on a forum or similar

@@waheex Would you remember if they were actually metal threaded screws?

@@user-vl8vn3ox8l hi yes I believe they were. I remember there was a large red label on the bottom warning the user to remember to remove them before use
