Hi Marie! Your sewing room is a reflections of most Sewist. I mean... who doesn’t have a collection of vintage sewing supplies and nick-nacks? I have a few that I can’t seem to get rid of even though I haven’t a clue what to do with it. Maybe it has to do with the nostalgic feeling I get from having it and the love for vintage sewing. Marie, I’m actually interested in the way you use your projector. It’s so creative! Any chance you might want to do a video on that? Anyway, thank you for sharing, it was a very nice tour! 💕💝

All of the color coordinated and fancy-ish. organization never lasts. So grow your room as you go, like yours, is what lasts. Enjoyed the sharing and as soon as I get my sewing room moved to it's new location I'll send you a peak. Thank you, Marie.

That was fun, thank you for sharing. I love eclectic looking comfy spaces. The shiny ones are nice too, but eclectic is my favourite. Sewers seem to love their creative spaces - I know I do. Kind regards. 🙋♂🙋♂

Well, I'm jealous. Your room makes me miss my nana and long for space. I live in a studio apartment with my husband, who very kindly gives me a corner devoted to all things creative...that corner very quickly becomes the entire apartment in the midst of any project...sewing, drawing, whatever. But I am so thankful. Whatever we have, we make the best of, right!? Thank you for sharing, Marie. Always interesting to see where the magic happens for people!

I love your sewing/craft room. All my stuff comes from different places too. I have a big folding table for my cutting/ironing. My husband cut a whole in our kitchen table for my sewing machine. But now it's in my sewing/craft room. I appreciate your knowledge on patterns.

It is fabulous. I sew on my kitchen peninsula facing my family room. I bring out my sewing machine and serger and what I’m going to be using every day. After sewing I pick up everything and put it away in my husband’s office. You are a lucky lady to have so much space. Mind you I do have a fairly big house but the bedrooms are dedicated to guest rooms since must of my family lives out of state and they drop by whenever the weather gets too cold for them up north. Enjoy that big sewing room. 🥰

Love your room. I love to repurpose furniture to meet my needs. I painted and dismantled a long chest of drawers that were the children's and is my sewing table for machine and serger. Old ladder that I put on the wall with a door that was made to hold thread. shelves to hold fabric. Just like you it is my happy space and meets my needs. Love your channel

This was a great tour, This is how real home sewing is. I loved the comment "why have one machine when you can have ten" I get teased all the time about my ten machines but each is special and can be set up for special purposes making sewing faster and easier! You are a great inspiration for upcoming home sewists!

I love your sewing room! As someone who's own sewing supplies/notions are mostly either inherited or second hand, I appreciate the fact that your room is a reflection of you and your sewing journey. Those "new and shiny" sewing rooms are always fun to look at, but much like looking at a picture of a minimalist's house, I wouldn't want to live there. Right now I don't have a dedicated sewing room, but whenever we move and I can again, mine will look a lot more like yours!

You have such a great space!!! I’m so cramped because I like to do other crafts and stuff in my room but seeing your space, shows me that I need to just have a sewing room since it’s my main hobby now. I can clear out the other stuff and put it in another room or the garage and finally have breathing room. Thank you for the inspiration!!!

My sewing room is a bedroom in the finished basement, but it’s not fancy at all. My husband built my biggest table for my Babylock Destiny 2, several years ago from wood harvested from my family’s farm. He made me a triple set of shelves to go on top an old bedroom dresser & 2 chests of drawers, so my stuff isn’t from IKEA either. I have a rather wobbly foldable cutting table & a small machine table for my Babylock Molly from JoAnn Fabrics. I’m not a “rearranger” of furniture at all. 🤷♀️

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that has lots of stuff in every available space . Always looking for more space to store all my goodies ! I to have 9 vintage machines ! I love them ! They are work horse's ! I sew a lot of bags and pouches as well as clothing . Love your desk and sewing table .

I loved seeing your sewing room. I have a hard time keeping mine clutter free. Yours looks pretty clean. How much have you used your Cricut ? Do you think a dress form is really useful ? How far is closet fabric shop ? Do you mostly buy your fabrics online ?
@mybucoliclife2 жыл бұрын
You know, having the camera in there has forced me to try to keep it in some kind of order 🤣 as far as dress forms, I 100% recommend. They really do make sewing so much better. So much. The closest fabric store is an hour and 20 minutes away, but there is an amish store about 20 minutes from here for thread and very basic things. When I'm at there fabric store I usually buy several fabrics at once. Anything I like that "sparks joy" but for special projects I do sometimes order online if it is a place I can trust for quality. 😁😁

Hello from one farm lover to another :) We live on a farm in Oregon (blueberries, chickens and racing pigeons). Loved seeing your sewing room :) I am also a huge vintage sewing machine fan. I gave up counting though awhile back lol. Quick question, your little rolling cart with the roll holders on the end. Where did you find that? i have three machine plus my serger set up in my room and have been looking for something exactly like this to move from one machine to the next but can't seem to find them with the holders on the sides :(

Hello Tammy! Welcome fellow farm lover :) The little cart I got at a Michaels Craft store. On their website look for gramercy rolling cart. It is SO handy! Good luck :)

Thank you for the tour! I love your sewing room! What app do you use to log your patterns? Would love to use something like that for mine.
@mybucoliclife2 жыл бұрын
I was using an app called HouseBook. I had to buy the premium package though to be able to save a large mount of items. I used it for a few years with no problems. There is probably something else out there that would work just as well though. The only downside is that I had to store all the photos of the patterns on my phone, which had issues, and now the photos are gone... So, recently I bought an old Pattern Cabinet from a store and just put them all in there by category. :)

@@mybucoliclife oh okay! I will have to look into something. I think I saw where there was an app called Trello. That’s awesome about the cabinet!

I love your sewing room ! I've been sewing and beading for years, but my supplies were all over my house. I've just moved everything into 1 room, and I'm so excited to decorate it and set everything in a handy place. But my room will look more like yours than a perfect Ikea room as well. Which actuality I find rooms like that uninspiring lol they dont look lived in.
