love the fact that you trundle along. I've asked my sister to watch you because you're HUMAN. most sewing channels are PERFECT and we come away feeling less-than. LOVE your style ...AND you must be the lady I first watched when I initially bought my Singer 201K

I have to thank you. I’ve been binge watching your videos since I found your channel about a week ago. I made a blouse today which needed several adjustments. Two weeks ago, i would have panicked & procrastinated. Today i was so cool. I didn’t give it a second thought, i just knew how to do it. Lowered the bust point 3cm. Lengthened the bodice 3cm. Widened the bottom 0.5cm (2cm total). Lengthened the sleeves 7cm and widened them about 10cm to increase the volume in the gathering, I wanted them more poofy. Took me like 20 minutes. All because of your teachings. So _thankyou_ 😃

I just found your channel and you are my new favorite! Thank you for your amazing and detailed sewing videos. Your work is inspiring and phenomenally done! I just started my apparel sewing journey about a year ago and you’ve been so helpful to me. I LOVE your pocket template! I’m so bad at pockets making them symmetrical and with my OCD it makes me crazy. I just searched EBay and found a vintage clover like yours and I’m beyond excited. My husband thinks I’m so weird at what makes me happy. 😂 Thank you again!

With a flannel fabric, the extra 2 inches will probably be very helpful for movement. I hate tight sleeves. That’s a nice sleeve you made. You could even wear it over a long sleeved tee shirt in cooler weather, too. I like the cute pockets.

As always learnt things today from watching the video 1: why I’ve struggled to get folds in pleats running in the right direction I’ll go back a watch that information again so it ingrains 2: why my sleeve placket is never even (always been a frustration) - because the sleeve slash is on an angle. Oh goodness Marie can you say what cotton you use to sew with It looks a little heavier gm than I’m currently using. I did use a heavier cotton which is no longer available and my machine did like it better (so did I!) We are starting to get better variety where I am and of course now you can order on line but I don’t know many different brands yet. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks so much as always for the video. There’s always something interesting to learn from them I will say I eagerly wait each Friday for your uploads. Finish the work week and get inspired. Awesome

Hello Louise! Thanks so much for the great comments and observations. The thread that I use most often I purchased from wawak.com it is their amann saba 1000 meter spools. I really like the quality and the price is nice too. In their new catalog it looks like it is a little over $2 a spool. So glad you're watching 😁

What is the reason that you serge your edges then put your pieces together? Why not serge and see in one step? I appreciate your input and experience.
@mybucoliclife Жыл бұрын
Hello, I like to search first and then so because I like to press my seam allowances open. Also, doing it this way is a lot more forgiving in case you make a mistake while stitching. Thanks for watching

I'm just starting to sew again after 40 years. I can't seem to find a pattern to fit. Wonder if you had any suggestions. My measurements are B46, W45, and H45. I usually wear an extra large or a 16-18 rtw. According to my measurements I would jump up to a size 22 pattern. This just doesn't seem right. I just bought this same pattern by the way to make the blouse. I need your help... If you have time. I sure appreciate you. Judy 🦋
@mybucoliclife Жыл бұрын
Hello! I know transitioning from ready to wear to pattern sizes can be shocking when you see the number increases. For your measurements the size 22 does same to be accurate. As you are just getting into it though, I would suggest making it up out of a less expensive fabric first to try out that pattern size before jumping into high-end fabrics in case you need to change some things. For example I know for my body shape I have to lower the best if it's a tight fitting arm garment I need to make the bicep wider and if it's a straight skirt I need to make the hips wider using a standard size 16 pattern. But that understanding only came with a lot of trial and error over the years. So I would suggest starting with something that's supposed to be loose fitting, in the pattern size they suggest, and then tweak things from there. I really hope it goes well for you
@judymorgan319 Жыл бұрын
@@mybucoliclife thank you so very much! I have asked so many people even at fabric shops, and they didn't know the answer to what pattern size I needed. They didn't know anything about the finished garment ease either. I've got some old sheets I'm going to practice on. Again, I sure do thank you for taking the time to answer me 🦋
