Chu, the aliens seem able to walk thru water if it's not deep but their bodies aren't built for actual swimming. Also, Djimon Hounsou was in Quiet Place 2, he was the guy on the island they went to. So that's a small connection to the previous movies. And I dunno if you noticed, but Erik is Eddie Munson from Stanger Things 4 (Joseph Quinn) I thought it was pretty funny that some women live for years in NYC and can't find a good guy but Lupita found the nicest on in one day hahahaha ✌🏻

The one emotional beat I would have changed out is the ending. I would have had her sat at the piano her dad played at the bar/club, zoom in on the keys as she hits the key, cut to black. I think I would have preferred that subtle emotional conclusion to playing a random song on the iPod.

The song played is most definitely not random. The song is called Feeling Good by Nina Simone. It's about the feeling of freedom after experiencing oppression. Sam was in a very dark place at the beginning of the film. By the end of the movie, she is no longer in a dark place. She feels happiness & relief. Given that she chose the song, it clearly has significance to her. Also, have you considered that maybe it's a song her father favored? Nina Simon was a renowned pianist. He could've been a fan of hers.

I really liked this movie especially the ending omg. Lupita has terminal cancer in this movie. When it starts she's actually in hospice. where ppl go to die. A lot of ppl didn't like the whole quest for pizza but if I was about to die I would risk it for 1 more slice of pizza too damnit. The poem, I believe, was about her illness. Also the creatures not being able to swim is a continuity error because in the first movie we see one of the monsters swimming. They had no issue with water in the first film

No I think the monsters can go in water that isn’t too deep but when it comes to water they have to actually swim in their bodies aren’t mean for it hence why it didn’t take long for it to die. Or you could view it as them adapting to their environment

Yooo watching this for the first time today & finding out she was dying already in the middle of the movie broke me because, i had no clue going in, & i was completely clueless until she said it out loud. A quite place' Day One delivers an incredible, suspenseful horror as the prequel to the two instalments. Lupita Nyong'o and Joseph Quinn both perfectly captured their characters. Their emotions towards the world and each other is immaculate. Additionally, her cat serves protection and hope for both survivors. Even though these aliens came out of no where, mystery lies in the Quiet Place universe. This movie also is ironic as there are many heartfelt scenes, like the pizza motif throughout the story. The main character flashes back the memories from her childhood as she encounters and builds relationships with Eric. It was a tragedy in the end. The situational irony was very well set, written by John Krasinski from A Quiet Place. The music, atmosphere, perspectives, and plot were all perfect. It felt like I was in NYC with them. It was almost...3D!
