I was thinking the same. The limit between Sindhubhairavi and Thodi is probably very thin. But, gamakas make the whole difference ! I think that most of sindhubhairavi aspects can be brought into Thodi ragam...

Sindhu bhairavi of Carnatic system is equivalent to Hindustani Bhairavi 'Raga' and the Hindustani Bhairavi 'Thaat' is the equivalent of Hanumathodi Melakarta...that is why we find the similalities ....sometimes, Thodi sounds like Vilaaskhani todi of Hindustani system....The gamakas make the difference...because by the name of gamakams, we actually play or sing two different notes....that's why Hanumathodi is Just a scale or Melakarta...and Thodi is a Raga.....

When we do grahabedham in thodi from R to R do we get the ragam mohanam ? And do we get hindolam as well in the graha bedham of thodi ?

Thodi is a Sampoorna Raga with all the 7 Notes - whereas Mohanam & Hindolam are Audava Janya Ragas (Only 5 Notes in Aarohana & Avarohana). So from Grahabedham of Thodi - Mohanam & Hindolam will not come.
