A Rambly Update

It's been a difficult 7 months here at The Rambly Channel so in this channel update I talk about the future of the channel and how I'm managing conent creation over the coming weeks and months.

Thanks Naomi. My surviving hound is holding her own at the moment so I can only hope that the vet is being overly pessimestic, but only time will tell. As long as she remains happy that's the most important thing. Onwards and upwards! 😊

Thanks Jill. It's just one of those things. I've now got COVID so I'm clearly trying to win the "crappy things happening" bingo at the moment. As you say, things will get better before long! 😊

Hi Andy, so sorry to hear that you're having a tough time with covid, dog illness, in addition to the dog you lost recently etc. I think you're being a bit hard on yourself re the running aspect of your channel. We are often toughest on ourselves in life. Of course you are absolutely right to reduce the pressure on yourself to feel you have to produce weekly videos. But don't lose sight of the fact that your 'rambly' videos are really enjoyable, humorous and very refreshing. For myself, I watch many channels on KZbin but yours is practically the only one that I submit comments on as your 'down to earth' , 'joie de vivre' and humorous attitude and approach is so uplifting. Looking forward to future videos whenever you produce them. No pressure!!!

I feel for you, Andy. I, similarly, am going through 'not nice stuff' at the moment and can't wait for brighter days. I'm determined to get out there and run as I'm sure this helps and I very much look forward to you being able to do the same. We'll get there ...

Thanks Hilary. You're so right about that. There's no doubt that running is a great mental lift. I've just tested positive for COVID so I think my next run may be a few days off. It really is one of those years. I hope yours improves too!!

Thanks for the update, Andy. My deepest sympathies on your losses. Pets really are family. As for running, I'm quite happy to watch and listen to you ramble about whatever is on your mind. After some amount of time we all start to suspect that perhaps our Olympic dreams weren't meant to be.😆A lifetime of running is more than setting PRs and taking on challenges for longer and longer distances. But I really hope that things turn around for you and the year finishes a lot better than it started. Take care!

I hear you on illness and in and out of hospital and we also lost one of our dogs just before Christmas only aged 11 but the vet said small dog so this can happen at an earlier age especially with a cross. I walked up Snowden as a teenager but we stayed in a caravan a good distance away so I remember it being a very long day as took a few hours to get to Snowden but reasonably easy walking I think I did have to put my hands down at one point but that was it.

Perhaps you went up the same route as me as that sounds similar. Mostly OK, but just a tiny bit challenging in a couple of places. Still a great achievement and I'm pleased I didn't cheat and take the train up. I'm very impressed that you added a walk from your caravan to the endeavour too! So sorry to hear about your dog and at such a young age, that's terrbily sad. They leave a big hole, for sure. My other dog is holding her own at the moment so I'm hopeful that the vet was being overly pessimestic. Things will pick up. (Although as I've just got COVID not just yet!)

Sorry to hear this. I've really enjoyed your videos after finding your channel over the past year. I've just lost my dog unexpectedly last month and its been very tough to get out and run the old routes I used to run with her. Take some time to get things on track again and look forward to your next videos whenever that may be.

Thanks Dadventurer. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my other dog 3 days before Christmas and it's still hard so I feel your pain very much. My other pooch is holding her own at the moment so we'll see what the future brings. I'll still be making regular videos and once I'm out the other side of COVID I'm sure it won't be long before there's another upbeat video of some kind! Thanks for your support! 😊

Sorry to hear things have been so rubbish recently. And how awful about your dog. 😢 Trying to produce constant videos to feed the algorithm can be a nightmare so you're making the right decision.
