I do it all the time for my daughter mainly b/c she's not into princesses but wants to wear shirt w/ her fave characters so I buy her stuff in the "boys" section all the time. If u want ur son to wear all colors but him whatever I want. I get she most likely wldnt want to get stuff that said like "girls rule" or "daddy's princess" but there are tons of plain oneies she did buy. No one is forcing her to buy clothes solely from the "boys" section no one will arrest her for buying her son a plain purple shirt so just do it. There is no rule that you have to buy clothes based on the gender of your child. If you see something bright and colourful, Buy it! The only difference in any of the clothing is what section of the store you get it from (Girl/Boy) I feel like that should be the point of your argument, Otherwise, Buying clothing because they don’t make the cute stuff you want like the frilly onesies because it’s not for boys, Is doing what you’re saying you wish would change. Be an example of that change and buy the things you want! There’s not much room to rant if you don’t.
@jelousmoth5 жыл бұрын
Like I get what you’re saying and stuff and you can totally do that,, Ik people do it,, but what Colleen is saying is she wishes that there was just no difference in the sections kind of,, like she wishes that all genders were treated the same like if you say a girl walking down the street in a sparkly pink shirt most people wouldn’t care but if it was a guy wearing a shirt like that then he’d probably get some weird looks and I’m not saying you would be someone looking at him weirdly but I’m just trying to say that if you are going to the ‘girl’ section it’s not really making as much as a difference as trying to help make it less spilt into genders 🤷🏻♀️

I think I read somewhere that Celine Dion has or is coming out with a clothing line that is gender neutral? Maybe you should check that out for Flynn 😊
@sanaathegreat23245 жыл бұрын
No, that is seriously some satanic shit. The clothes have skulls and everything is in black and white. Kids should where colours and have fun clothing. And the commercial for it is *really* weird and creepy.
@velvetgoldmine32685 жыл бұрын
Sanaa The Great Skulls? Oh my how scary. It’s not like every single person has one in their head or something. Doesn’t look satanic at all to me. There’s nothing wrong with black and white either. Just seems like it’s trying to be trendy.

I don't see a huge problem with the "girl" clothes. Aren't princesses strong, empowering women? And having words like "beautiful" and "cute" aren't necessarily telling them that they HAVE to care about their looks, it can mean that they ARE beautiful and cute, because every female is. I think it's a sweet message that will make young girls feel confident.

@BeautyGirly2085 жыл бұрын
She’s talking about how they’re so separated. Society enforces the idea that girls need to be feminine and men need to be masculine, even by making separate clothing sections for boys and girls. It makes it seem like there needs to be a distinction, but in reality they’re children and then should be able to go into a store and pick out whatever they like without having to go to a certain section. We should be teaching children that gender is a fluid spectrum

These kinds of gender stereotypes are also not just in babies clothing, but also in all clothing, including adults. I'm a girl and I never ever buy things from the girls sections, because the boys stuff is just so much cooler and better! I personally think we are looking into this too deeply. Clothes don't make us who we are. As a society, we generalize colors and styles for boys and girls. On their journey of understanding who they are and what they like, it will come out and they should be encouraged to wear what they like and feel comfortable in. When they are babies, we don't know and therefore generalize boy/girl colors and styles. Until they show us who they are, don't worry about the small stuff. What's important is their health and happiness.
