Looking forward to seeing your crafting projects. I'm currently sharing lockdown 3 with you from the North West of England. Lancashire to be more exact. I'm a long time doll collector, especially Ball Jointed Dolls (BJDS) So, I'm trying to keep my mind active, and my mood out of the doldrums, but, as you say, it's hard, this is the 3rd lockdown. As an Retired Nurse I understand why, however, as a Mother and a Daughter it's hard when I can't visit family. I love seeing you all together, it's lovely to see you share hobbies and have fun together. I love history, no matter how small, or battered by time, it once belonged to someone who lived so long ago. I always say, that the moment you find something and handle it, there's a connection across time. I think that's what drives us to find out who owned the relics, the bits and bobs, and the scraps we pick up. Just think, one day future larkers will be handling our stuff, I wonder what they will think of us?! I dread to think lol!! I think Kates right, her tiny part of that badge does appear to be medieval. Once we beat this virus, if you take it along to the Museum, they will be able to match it up for you, and be able to give you more information about age, where its from etc... Take care, stay safe ❤️👍🤗

Thank you, Ladies. Grateful you saved these larks to share with us at this time, strategically serving them up to us, as a sweet dessert. : ) Very exciting for you to find that Medieval badge, Kate. Though the finds were few, it is the quality, not quantity that wins in this hunt. I'm always amazed at how the shards of pottery usually frame an entire scene, as the choice shard you found. Oscar sure was tickled at finding that perfect (1960s?) marble, as the screw-topped sauce bottle Harry found, most likely was. More than half a century is still pretty old to Oscar. Quite a selection of bonfire glass. You ever consider getting a small rock tumbler for smoothing out the rough edges of them and other pieces of glass that are nearly smooth and too pretty to chance leaving them behind? I found out, by an accidental spaghetti sauce spill, over the side of my stainless, copper clad bottomed pot, that any tomato based sauce will clean copper nicely. No need to run to the market for copper polish, even ketchup will do. The brass tag would be a nice, simple bracelet, by drilling a hole at the other end, bending it slightly, to form to wrist, fasten some copper wire (hammered/textured?) to one end, a hook and ring at the other, to fasten it together, give it a bit of a polish and Wah Lah! Always looking forward to more content from you. Hugs to you both and give Sunny a scratchin' from me.

Thank you that sounds like a lovely idea for the brass tag, we will have try out some sauce on out copper! :)

Hi ladies, please don't despair, it will pass. Meantime, you have inspired me to take a wander onto the edge of local farmland and within the first 20 or so yards I found a Codd marble just sitting on the soil surface, amazing. I also picked up pieces of marmalade jar bases and intend to make a Frankenstein pot base for a candle. I've also found what I think might be wig curler pieces as well as a small perfume bottle and a glass stopper some yards away that fits it perfectly so very pleased with the items found in the space of an hour. We are very happy to watch you craft something in the absence of a walk ... it's all the same in terms of peace and inspiration. Keep up the good work, please. x

We missed Sunny! Where was he this time? We hope he’s Okay? And the pilgrim’s badge looks like Victorian era stamped filigree to my eye. I have a bit of that in my jewelry making stuff. @19:00 Did the little bottle have dried ink in it? A thoroughly satisfying mudlark...especially the badge that Kate found. Good show!

Ha, ha. Could you hear me shouting take the nails, take the nails! Big juicy copper alloy nails.😁 Too bad you didn't have your scraper. Where you find lots metal there should be other exciting metal pieces. Maybe even coins or pins. Yet another satisfying video. Thank you for that. 💓

I was saying exactly the same thing! Why didn't yo take the square nails? Enquiring minds want to know, eh? ROFL

It took us by surprise that we would find somewhere to scrape. We will definitely be going back with scraping tools in hand haha :) We have quite a lot of nails already :)

If you find some more nails square or copper and extra pins can you pick some up to sell? I would love to get some to make jewelry from. At the moment I am using horse shoe nails but I would love to use historical items for this. They don't even have to be particularly old.

Such great finds like always.. the badge being particularly interesting. If you haven’t already maybe you could familiarize yourselves with the local mushrooms .. in North America they are a delicious addition to most meals.. surely there are edible ones in the British Islands as well? Maybe not.. I guess now I have something to research.. thanks for another enjoyable video.

I hope you check your older video for new comments because I have watched this video many, many times today and I only just noticed that the piece of glass you held up to the light is the shape of North Carolina where I live. The hole marks the city of Charlotte, also known as the Queen City. Nice piece of bonfire glass. Well my beauties I think Oscar and Kate both look so very young. Greetings from North Carolina U.S.A.

Isn’t fantastic the amount of history you found within a small stretch of shore. Reminds me the very first book I read by Noel Hume called In Small Things Forgotten.
