That Dunlop CX line is fantastic. 200 line if you're pro player, 400 Tour if you're club player and 400/200OS for intermediates. All improve hugely with a bit of lead tape.

I have hit (Demo'd @ TW) with this racquet. I was pleasantly surprised at the feel. In stock form at around 11oz it has room for customization to around 11.7 oz and the racquet went from good to REALLY good. Dunlop should be congratulated for bringing this racquet to market. Most OS frames sport a RA stiffness of 68 and higher and a static weight under 10.2 oz.. This is as close to a "players oversized" frame I have hit with since the HEAD Classic 660. The Agassi OS felt like you were swinging a big head while this one for whatever reason does not. If you are a doubles player with singles strokes, this may be the best racquet you can find.

I played with the Head Classic 660 many years ago and that was a great racquet. How does this 200 CX OS compare if weight is added? I strongly considering buying this racquet as a I am looking for a more forgiving user-friendly frame with room for customization. I am a 4.0-4.5 player in my 50's and don't play as much as I did years ago and looking to make things easier for myself on the court with an arm friendly racquet.

@@kenharris7194 Ken: I played the same HEAD Classic for several years. Looking back I'd have to say it was in my top 3 racquets (Dunlop 300g 105, HEAD IG Radical MP) that I used. I played it completely stock because it was heavy enough to have decent SwingWeight. The 200 CX OS needs weight to play at the 4.5 level. If you were a 3.5 I'd suggest stock. I'm 66 now and play USTA League 4.0. I cannot swing a 12+oz frame effectively anymore and that's why I tried the CXOS. I'm cheap and as much as I liked this new frame, the cost kept me from buying it. I spent a considerable amount of time before buying a HEAD i. Radical OS off of EBAY and couldn't be happier. You can't beat $45 for a good graphite OS frame that weighs right around the same as the stock CXOS.

Hands down the two best OS racquets were the Prince Original Graphite 107 and Head Radical Trisys 260 Agassi frames. They are hefty, but head light and offer power and stability from the off with lots of control and flex. As I know Dunlop has done a great job with this line of frames, nothing compares to the aforementioned frames.

I've been hitting with the previous version of the Head Prestige Pro (95 sq in) that I added weight to in the handle to bring it to 12.5 oz. I play doubles almost exclusively these days and I thought I could benefit by going to a larger racquet. Years ago I played with a Radial OS, and the Dunlop 200 CX OS has fairly close specs. The Dunlop is way too light for me so I added weight to the handle with tungsten puddy and a leather grip, and a little lead tape at 3 and 9. I matched the balance of my old Prestige, but the weight is a little less at 12.3 oz. The result is amazing with Weiss Cannon Red Ghost strings at 49lbs, and I'm anxious to try other strings to see how they play. I can't say enough good things about this stick! It's definitely worth a demo, but if you like a player's racquet you'll like it more by adding weight to it. Keep it head light!

The Radical OS was probably no more than a 104 as Head were measuring head size on the outside of the frame back then.

Hey Harry, I have A question for you. I bought the V core 95 And I am trying to weight it up like you said but I just realised That the 19 Gauge Cyclone strings that I'm using Are 6 to 8 g lighter than the strings you are using. Therefore what would you suggest for weight and where to place it to make it the specs that your talking about ? That might be a great piece for you to do on your channel explaining the different weights of strings and how that affects rackets and performance.I can't wait to get that Geau tennis bag from you. Thanks buddy.

That reminds me a lot of the Revelation Tour Pro from the 1990s - just a lot bigger. The specs on that thing look great. Do they come in 95? I guess it would be a Prestige MP clone. I used Dunlop in the 1990s.

My son found an old wilson sting oversize racquet and restrung it to 57# with synthetic gut. He said the racquet played amazing for about a week and then as the syn gut stretched out it lost control and started trampolining a lot of shots. Is there a string that would hold its tension and resiliency for a longer time? I have heard that some pros are experimenting with larger racquets, do you know anything about this?

I'd like to find a good oversized players stick. I always seemed to struggle with some aspect of the big frames though I enjoy the big surface area. I'm currently using the RF97 after using the old pro staff 85's. Still would like something accurate and arm friendly but slightly less weight as I feel I could benefit from it as in my mid 50s now

I have the CX 200 LS. I was curious about the CX 200 OS. Definitely reminded of the Radical OS I use to have with the thin beam width. Dunlop has created some seriously good racquets withe CX, FX, and SX lines. Possible comback?

How do you like the LS? I’m 49yo all court player looking to transition to a lighter racquet. Looking for something I can customize to play at around 320g, 6pts hl, 325ish SW with leather grip strung. Need something that plays well at the net. Year by year I’m playing more dubs…

Just picked up a CX200 OS 4 1/4 slightly used on Ebay for $92. Other than larger head size, its similar to my midplus Head i.Prestige and Prince NXG Tour, so could be a good transition once I add 0.7-1.0 oz lead. These all have Flex RA ~61 and thin constant beams. I ordered a couple Gamma TNT2 React Pro 17 string sets, for its slick surface over multi-filaments. Can anyone recommend string tension for starters? 54-55 lbs? specs say 40-60 lbs, which I suspect low40-50 lbs values for poly.
@e2hbh
@e2hbh 3 жыл бұрын
Just received and played the CX200 OS. Previously strung with Tecnifibre Multi-Feel 16 multi-filament synthetic. RacquetTune measured 29.4 lbs, so must have been originally strung at 40 lb, bottom of 40-60 lb range. So loose it seemed, with big snapback. Whoaaa. The racquet played surprisingly well, serves hit with equal depth and pace with more spin, comfortable returning hard serves, and great touch and comfort for volleys. The ball seemed to pocket on the strings, before taking off nicely. My vintage racquets measured 48-52 lb tension. Played extremely well, IMHO. Weighted to 11.3 oz with 3/9 lead, and head tip protection tape. I won't bother restringing, but play as-is for awhile. Thanks to Harry's review. Soft flex RA 62, 16x19, constant 22 mm beam, 105 in2. Consider string on lower half of tension range, even with multifilament synthetic.

Please ask Dunlop to issue this frame in a 4 1/2" grip size! The old version of the Blade 104 had a denser string pattern (18 x 20) and was a longer 27.5" in length. The models are not exactly comparable.

@@LegolasD I have no problem with OS racquets, having actually played in my teens with an original aluminium Prince OS! One of the favourite racquets in my classic collection that I still play in rotation is the Prestige Tour 660 that is 102sq”, that was labelled a MidPlus by HEAD. I just find it ironic how many men at my club who can barely strike the ball with any sort of athleticism turn their noses up at anything bigger than 98sq”, saying that those aren’t “proper racquets”, whatever that’s supposed to mean. 🤷‍♂️ OS racquets were ideal for Agassi given his preference to take the ball early and aggressively. I don’t think he suffered any ego concerns over OS sticks either!

That’s not a Serena 104. That’s a v6, no countervail 104. Serena’s v6 104 has a 330-340 swingweight with countervail. Regardless, the only Blade 104 with a 60 RA is the v7. That regular v6 with a 315ish swingweight is RA 66.

Why do the definitions of "size" keep changing? It used to be: Midsize was 70" to 90", Midplus was 95", anything over 95" (maybe 97") was considered "Oversize", To me . . . . almost everybody plays with an Oversize racket, a very few play with a "Midplus" (95") . . . . and basically nobody plays with a "Midsize" (90" and below) . . .. .

Not sure how useful an opinion on modern racquets is, from a man his age with classic strokes of a bygone era. The weight, balance and swingweight of present day racquets is probably far removed from the sort of racquet he likely prefers and plays with. So far, he’s demonstrated nothing in his opinions to suggest that he’s someone who is able to provide good advice that is relevant to modern stroke styles and equipment.
