i'm so glad i bought the prior version when they went on sale. i love it. for some reason i couldn't get used to the 16 x 19 but i love both the 18 x 20 and the 98.

Hi Jonas: I never found a racquet over a 95 that was great for a 1HBH. Several years ago with your help I went from my decades old ti Radicals (98 but really a Head 95) to the TF40 305 (18/20 -98). The TF40 did a lot of things really well - especially on the forehand and slice, but not really for the 1HBH. So having donated all of my vintage ti's, I moved to a VCore 95 (very head light with a 3/4 leather grip) - which is not as good as the old radical or the TF40 on the slice or the volleys but really really good on the 1HBH - and of course for a lefty the backhand is most important. I know you have now played with both the the 95 Dunlop and the VCore 95. Would love to know if you had a preference there. Best

@Tennisnerd or anyone who has hit with both; do you find this new versoin better (worth it...) over the previous 2021 version which are on sales? I'm currently using the 18x20 of the 2021 version but would love a single or a pair of the open pattern to mess around with too.

The tour version, from last year, is my racquet of choice now. Spec stiffness is 63. With 8g lead at 3, 9, and 12, plus another 6g in the handle it plays like my old, beloved Prestige You Tek IG. Excellent feel, control, and hits spin surprisingly well. I think it’s best suited for an all-court game style.

Hey I'm always a bit confused when people mention weight on the racquet head. Could you detail how much you add at both 3 and 9, and then 12 please? Thanks! I always like tinkering with my CX200 tours 2021 so that will help :)

This racquet reminds me of the Vcore 95 2021 edition where you really had to have quality footwork to generate the power, I had to sell it as I'm just not consistent enough with my footwork to play with it. I think with this racquet and similar ones gut on mains would help add power and a mid 40s tension poly like 4G or the round version of RPM blast would work well with control. Generally I would think these racquets are made to be customised, like a platform racquet as they are for very advanced players.

A friend brought the 16x19 demo to our hitting session. Mini tennis didn't impress me with the feel, felt metallic...From the baseline, I was crushing the ball with consistency and placement. Plays like a 98. Super plush and ball pocketing. Has a strange sound on lighter contact...but then has an explosive BOOM hitting big. One handed backhands have stability and the most ball pocketing I've felt in years from a frame. Slices become a hot knife through butter too. Will probably switch to this stick.

The Ultra is much more plush IMO and it has a slightly thinner beam but not by much. You will have more control with the Ultra i think but it will be close. The Ultra is a 60 Flex and def plays like it, one of the most plush rackets I have played with in a while. The extra 2 sq makes a difference

I use CX200 at around 12.6 ounces. I put 1/4 ounce at the butt cap and pasted lead strip from 3 to 9 o'clock position with two additional layers of 3 inches lead tapes at 12 o'clock. Total weight comes out to be around 12.6 ounces. Because of 1/4 ounce lead at the butt cap, the racquet balances well and is easy to swing. And when I swing through and meet the ball with body weight, the ball rockets off of my racquet. My opponent usually says that the ball feels like an apple on their side. I really think a heavy racquet is not difficult to use as long as it is well balanced. My opinion is that If you gonna add weight, you need to go all out. Otherwise, it's will be tough to use.

At 4:45 you discuss your ideal specs for a 95, which happen to line up perfectly with a leather gripped Prestige Tour 2023. Nikki liked that frame, but you not so much. I know your Prestige is the Pro, but I have to wonder why the Tour never jelled with you...

Unbelievable for a well known brand like Dunlop making a advanced line of rackets and the swing weights on the CX barely gets above 320g. Surely with the range there should be a SW range from 315-330g to have the cx200 with SW sub 300g is criminal. Was looking forward to this range but reckon I'll give it a miss
@brandomaxwell
@brandomaxwell 4 ай бұрын
@@stevenhowie4219, I can only imagine that Dunlop is embracing the racquet's popularity among customizers, giving them ample room to tweak the swingweight up to their individual needs. It's a small but growing market.
