I completely agree with this statement. Your videos are entertaining and it’s nice to hear your thinking when it comes to achieving your objectives. It’s also neat to see how you go about overcoming the various problems that us more experienced players have already dealt with. I’m really glad to have been able to see the first video in what I hope is a long series of future videos. I’m really curious to see how you do with aluminum production.

Nice to see another Mechanically and Technologically inclined person discovering the game and making rather quick work on figuring out how to optimize his build. It's still very early access but Desynced might be something you want to look out for. Some small tipps: - you can ctrl+c and ctrl+v recipes from and into maschines. - you probably already build one, but if not: a small production line where you feed leaves and wood into to make solid biofuel helps alot. Sadly you can't - automaticly harvest those. - underclocking saves energy/overclocking costs more, the % field allows you to input calculations. So you can write "2/3" to get exactly 66.666...% production - At some point not to far in the future you will produce more from the miners. you might want to leave some space to expand production lines.

A couple things: Lizard Doggos *can* take damage and die, even after taming. Be sure to keep them safe. :) While you say it's a starter base, you're also smack in the middle of the most dense patch of resources in the game. You can finish the entire tech tree with what's nearby, and three other things within 1500m or so. Really impeccable progress so far though, people usually come with with a terminal case of the spaghett before restarting, and even then it's not half this organized.

The crazyness of Satisfactory is how it keeps adding things on top of what you know/have, so you can't keep-up and at one point, you HAVE to make an entirely new base elsewhere to get new resources. As someone who's more of an artist than an engineer, I tried to make efficient bases that look fantastic, and Satisfactory allows that! Once you start leveraging the things you can get in the Awesome Shop to make it look believeable, with pillars, signs, stickers on foundations, walls with various holes to connect to conveyor belts/elevators... it gets insane.

Ah, this looks like you planted down right where I built my starter factory in my personal save. I remember the area being marked as very likely to change drastically, it is kind of surreal seeing someone set up shop there once again after the last major terrain overhaul. One of the major things I did during that playthrough was building a rail network that traveled through and along the pillars below. I haven't come back but I imagine all I built in there is now buried now.

Im also an Automation Engineer/Mechanical Engineer. I must say I was more engineery 😂 I built blueprints with 2 levels. One for underfloor conveyers and the 2nd floor for machines.. Also I built relay stations before each Copper/Iron/Steel Ingot, where i split gathered conveyors of say 720 or 1080 to either 240-360 belts for distributing per workshop floor. Under the buildings I built acveducts for pipelines or resource conveyors. Actually also fits small truck stop for gathering stuff from 4-5 buildings and riding it to the Assembler/manufacturer building.🎉🎉 One thing I miss though is to have a smart switch so that you could have track switches for conveyorbelts depending selected recepy in assembler/manufacturor. Also you should be able to group several building to toggle recepys by group and purge belt/machine contents..

A nice and tidy PCB! :D When you build the elevator, and step up a tier or two, there will come some difficult product what you have to create and transport. And no spoiler, but some later you will forget this nice location and move around the world!

Using the N key, for the search pop-up. You can use that pop-up to type your math equations in. Just type whatever your calculating and it will provide the results. ie: Press N to open the pop-up, within type math like 120/4 and it will automatically show you the result being 30

There was some controversy for straight line splitting. Where every machine gets it own splitter that splits the incoming line between the machine and the next splitter. It may be a more resource intensive and slower output at the beginning. But definitely much more space friendly and tidier, and once it at full production produces the same amount of materials. You can try hard, but at some point the so called "Spaghetti" of messy conveyor belts will always be a part of your factory as it was in the beginning.

You now have a map function (default key is 'm') so that you can mark the location of things you find e.g. spaceships, caves and new resources. I was inspired to start a new game. Same location, I look forward to matching progress (and gaining from your insights) as we build. Thanks again.

quick tip on those power shards and overclocking: The max output you can get from a resource node is 780 units/min because that's the limit of the mk5 belt. As you scale into the late game, the most efficient use of limited power shards is to maximize resource output by overclocking your miners, rather than overclocking lots of production machines.

A couple tips - Pressing N brings up the search tool but it also doubles as a calculator - In that same screen you can also leave yourself notes - Zoop mode by pressing R which I saw another comment mention - It seems that at 3:20 you figured out that bussing materials (a manifold) is more space efficient than perfectly splitting (While being just as efficient production wise) Also I just wanted to say I absolutely love your style of gameplay and editing and can't wait for more.

Well, it depends. Manifolds can have problems with very slow things like Crystal Oscillators since it takes them forever to saturate, and they're worse for items-on-belt which can cause problems if you don't have whatever dormant AI intelligence that Kibz uses for his game.

Glad to see you again here on Satisfactory, hope you're enjoing the game so far! I love the work that you've done with setting up all your machines before starting running them without control (like I did at the very beginning of my game), you'll get the conveyor belts mk2 so you'll automate everything with no problems. Keep an eye on the power lines tho, because obviously getting all those machines working on 100% efficiency will consume 100% of the power that is written in the machine, for example the 4MW/min for the smelters and the constructors. Because ye, if I'm not wrong (I'm not 100% sure of that, it's been a while since I played last time), the fact that your machines are not running at full speed means they consume less power. In fact, overclocking machines with power shards means: 1) more input materials needed, 2) more output materials that they'll produce, and 3) more power needed... the only difference between the colours of the slugs is the number of shards that you will get by each one of them (and the fact that in the environment they are more/less rare and more/less PROTECTED...) Btw you'll get, and have to find of course, new power sources in the forest, which will be much easier to automate. Hope that helps, keep it up!

This is the same place I built my starter base in my current game. Mk.2 Miners will also show up down the line, which double the output of the miners. So each one will produce 240 iron per minute. But Mk.3 belts can carry 270 per minute. So with everything doubled from what you have now, what I found made everything fit the best was to make one floor for the smelters, then all of the iron ingots move up to the second floor where I put all of the constructors. Ronald the bird. I've always believed that when they open their beak, they're imitating a flower of some kind, trying to catch bugs.

Wow. I'm genuinely impressed. You haven't even constructed your space elevator yet and you're already making things neat and tidy. That's unusual for most new players.

Remember you can underclock now when things don't perfectly divide, like with your concrete - if part of your capacity is going unused, it's wasting power, but underclocking will mitigate that by reducing the capacity and power consumption along with it. You'll find, if you haven't already, that the basic resource in Satisfactory is not so much amount of stuff as it is rate of production, so the wasted material cost of the machine doesn't matter so much, especially in the long run as it amortizes. In fact, if memory serves, the nonlinear power curve means underclocked machines are actually more power-efficient, by at least a little bit (and the reverse with overclocking)

Love the video. A few things I saw you look at. For power, Blue line is how much your factory will use if everything is on at all times, grey is how much you're producing and orange is how much it is using now. Overclocking with the power shards will make the machine use more power, it goes up exponentially the more you overclock it so be careful overclocking stuff.

sneak peak: if you unlock tier3 in the space elevator you can automate your power production. This would be the moment you realize, "there is no way back" 😁. Cant wait to see you satisfaction on satisfatory ❤ tipp: Build everything on foundations

Impressive beltwork for a beginner, those 90 degree angles sure are the key for satisfactory satisfaction. A tip about your final material storage area, you don't really need that much resources in the beginning so one container per resource is enough at this point, though one could argue that more is always better =). Now if you're sticking to the current 2 containers per resource, send the resources to the top container first, then link that to the bottom, that way resources will fill up the bottom one first which is more accessible.

There is eventually something you can get that is an actual power switch so you won't have to micro-manage the lines, but keep up the amazing series!

Get to coal power as soon as possible, that's how you automate power. For every 120 coal/min build 8 coal generators and 3 water extractors. Do an overflow split in the coal line as well as in the water pipeline. Initially the water extractors will need power from your current grid but this coal setup once started will feed itself(once you loop the power lines). This setup will give you 600MW of maintenance free power. 120 coal= 600MW. Best of luck.

I recommend having an awesome shop to sink every item, that way you can have the machines constantly running and have a steady supply of points coming in. Also, hold E to automatically pick leaves and such.

Just to help to make a bit more smooth 90 degree turnes - use guidelines to go along with the belt until guidelines makes acute angle, then go back 2 units, put end of the conveyour and then connect it right away with whatever you want to connect with (smelter/constructor/splitter/merger). You will thank me later =D Also ofc great vid, greetings! :D

Omg this is the same area where I built my Factory. It's really cool that it has 4 pure iron nodes, 1 pure copper node, and 1 pure limestone node all near each other. Plus, you also get a nice view of the Great Canyon and the Spirewall to the North

One thing you could optimize is actually downclocking your miner, smelter and constructor to match the max capacity of the MKI belts (saving power for other stuffs). And when MKII belts are available, switch everything back to 100% power.

Overclocking is very power hungry, since power draw increases polynomially. In fact, underclocking can actually be useful in early game when you're still hand-feeding your power generators. 2 machines at 60% speed take about the same power as 1 machine at 100% speed.
@BleuSquid

N.B. the exact calculation has changed a few times over the life of the game. Pay attention to the power draw when you start over/underclocking, if your power budget is tight.
