Beautiful watch. And compared to the millions of copy-pasted dive watches I see on KZbin all the time, this one actually looks like a real watch. Carefully designed and executed. Gorgeous. It's far outside of my price range for an unknown brand, but I appreciate it and I hope they will have a bright future.

It's a very unique, beautiful watch. The green and the brass is just a great combination. The original 1970s retro inspired design also adds to the watch's value for me, as someone who grew up in that era.

Hi Peter, looking for a bronze French watch I recently discovered March LAB and this Bonzer Bronze. I started to search on March LAB and what a brand with a great potential for a bright future. For the price, I thought the Bonzer Bronze was unique, quite artsy and definitely stunning in term of presence, finitions, design, reliability of the movement. You had the only detailed video review on it and your comments, combined to the amazing micro shots throughout your video convinced me to go for it. I was lucky to locate 1 of the 99 models, I am super excited. Thank you for the quality of your work and your efforts as I am sure it takes time to create and post your 10mn video, you’ve gained a subscriber.

March LAB has been on my radar for a few years. I follow them, looked at their models, recognised a lot of their idiosyncrasies, such as the green themes, wonderful logo as this base of many patterns, seventies inspiration, and green date, and yet never truly investigated what was behind the brand or its name. They have such a bewilderingly large lineup that the very frequent and insistent use of multiple branding elements on each watch with versions in different sizes and both quartz and automatic movements starts feeling to me like a fashion watch brand. It's sometimes a little like they try to segment the market so much that they forget to put everything they have into a handful of models that really represent their vision. What can one choose among so much relatively similar noise from the brand itself? Personally, I do think that is an unwise decision on the brand's part, spreading themselves too thin, but it could be that it works for them and others love all the subtle design choices. The pricing trending well above 1100GBP and over 500GBP for quartz always seemed very ambitious too, and despite bags of identity various models come across a little more clunky and quirky than truly refined. The dressier options can be so devoid of elements that to justify the price it has to absolute knockout quality, but from the website you don't get much more than well styled imagery and a marketing blurb emphasising Frenchness, but not necessarily articulating what about its finishing or components truly clarifies their market position. Amidst so much uncertainty it is nice to see an endorsement from you and I do know how to present their pieces themselves in their visual marketing, where they always look impressive. It's the kind of thing I could go for, though I'd prefer one that embraces its dressy styling even more than this one with a rotating bezel. To persuade me, either an in person encounter or a very good deal would be needed, I think.

Why though? This is literally just a "luxury" watch through marketing, and nothing else. They could make money selling it at $700, but fools like you take some random review that hypes up its custom $1 date wheel with a green date something magical and now it's worth 3k... So tired of people not being able to objectively asses things based on facts
@PeterKotsa

Guys, this is a hobby and we are all adults here..I am sure John or anyone including yourself or myself is smart enough to know where to spend our money Lest refrain from calling someone a "fool" As far as this being a 'luxury' watch through marketing, I totally agree, I am on your side here...100% But it doesn't stop there, the entire watch world has become ridiculous in the last few decades if you ask me The last time I checked, a Rolex Sub costs $15,250 AUD..that's marketing for sure. My Omega AT which I recently sold to fund my GS retails at $10,125 AUD...is it worth that much money..NO. no way, but thats their asking price..go figure Whatever the case, I like this brands design cues and styling so I decided to show it here on my channel..Thats it !! But lest try to be nice to one another
@iTzGODZiLLA
@iTzGODZiLLA Жыл бұрын
@@PeterKotsa Im happy that theres some common ground and understanding, but I'm going to explain why imo the entire market is a joke that's perpetuated by fools, yes fools, that all agree to play hot potato for an item that's been 30x'd by marketing and hype. This goes for seiko models that charge $1200 for a diver with a misaligned bezels, crap bracelets, a movement that somehow took the reliable 4r and mangled it for a few more hours that cant be reliably regulated and its thicker than a snickers, all the way up to the rolex sub which a regulated san martin reveals that the subs nonsensical. Yes r&d costs money but these designs are decades old and most big companies are literally just regurgitating past lineups with marginal improvements. The chinese market has obviously distrupted things, but people often forget that labour actually costs money in other places; So I'm not diminishing quality or the high end watches, but zaratzu polishing once looked into is essentially all done by machines(german tech) and the dials are all basically stamped, so while they look great, these are all industrial grade watches, fetching 1of1 artisanal prices. If companies (going from cheap to expensive) like LIW, Straton, Nodus, traska, helios, cward, monta and many others can all make original designs and cases and money, then so can these legacy brands that again are riding decade old coattails, or in grand seikos case, the pricing structure of seiko makes them have to take a weird price jump to seem relevant or comparable.

A very handsome watch. I believe there are two types of bronze used in watch making (maybe three if you include Omega’s proprietary Bronze-Gold) Anyway, one is the traditional type used by the likes of Panerai, which left to its own devices goes grey/black and can leave a green residue on the skin. The other, used by the likes of Tudor that incorporates aluminum in the alloy and there for still patinas, but doesn’t leave that residue…do you know which type this brand uses?

Thanks for sharing this brand Pete, I have to agree some of the styling on this is great and refreshing original (love the nurling on the crown and the other little design cues). There seems to be a lot of good stuff coming out of France, Baltic and Yema spring to mind straight away. I have to disagree on one point though, a dive style watch for me should always be dive capable!! I’m never going diving in it I know, but it just seems to me to be a bit fake to have something on wrist saying one thing, but not being able to back it up!!! The British saying is all mouth, no trousers!!! 🤣

Swiss watch makers could learn a thing or two from this brand. Most swiss brands offer shit leather straps and lousy quartz movements for a so called "reasonable" price. Oth the other hand, high end swiss brands have become complacent with peddling overpriced watches with uninspiring, bland dials and solely relying on the current generation's recall of their vintage timepieces without bothering about building a market for themselves after the next few years or so.
