Back after a week on my back. Really struggling this week but I want the well area finished before the builders finish the roof and I can start the renovation on this old Portuguese stone house.

Thanks for lovely comments. The emphasis was not intended to be about negative comments, I ignore most of the time and it washes over me. I’ve a thick skin. It just got me as I was in pain and thought it would be a good way to put in context the reality with back pain that many will relate to. I also believe it’s good to share sometimes because even making vids is part of my reality however I’m not saying for sympathy. 👍

What ever you do do not over do it. I sprak by experience am 75 and not taling it easy at younger age has destroyed my back. I now wear an battery operated heating belt of I want to do strenuas work. It helpe keeping my back muscels kramping up. 😀

I want to say how much I love your videos. I wish there was a really good way to bypass and ignore people who are awful basically. I am 64, female. My mom is in a nursing home with dementia. I walk 2.5 km there and back every second day to visit and feed her. I have a chubby chihuahua who comes with me. I struggle with aching muscles, etc. and my dog also has troubles from time to time. Ultimately, I am so glad to be able to visit with her. I so enjoy your videos. Your kindness and decency shine through and quite frankly your videos are interesting and beautiful. Thank you.

Your construction journey is VERY relatable. I rescued, rebuilt, renovated, slaved and obsessed over a property in Mexico over a period of 18 years. Single, became bilingual and bicultural and, ultimately a Mexican citizen. It was challenging and ENORMOUSLY rewarding. Aside from the skill set I learned a lot about human nature. I pay NO attention to critiques from anyone who has not, will not or does not have the capacity to do what I expected of myself. Armchair heros. Sorry for your tender back. You are right to pace yourself. There is always the long game to consider. BTW I still miss working with cement.

Another thought for you, who often shares wisdom with us! For the time being, while you're healing your back (upon which your house's future renovation depends), may you embrace this moment of "it is what it is" and in that vein, consider heeding what the universe has sent you as an opportunity -- to prioritize improvements that favor your back, rather than asking your back to carry out stressful tasks that your mind has attached to finishing now. You are so creative, Andrew (LOVE the painted sun!), and also adaptable, and great at shifting gears to reconsider the bigger picture when you need to. So May you prioritize your healing, and lean into healthful options so you can heal more quickly and fully ... there's no shame about being injured, every single one of us is human and every good life has times when we're brought to our knees, temporarily. I'd happily watch you do any tasks that don't stress your back, like walking your property (or anywhere else) while discussing possibilities for landscaping/projects and your garden, including varieties, options and planting ideas, go wild. When you prioritize your healing, you also give us permission (by showing us how) to prioritize ours. Blessings and strength! :)

Been watching and enjoying your videos since the first one. Missed a couple, for whatever reason they could not be found. Your previous renovations were beautiful! I'm sure this one will too. An osteopath once told me "You can slip a disc in your back simply by picking up a penny, if you bend the wrong way." All the more risk when lifting heavy rocks. Take care.

Pretty rainbow! Your cover reminds me of the Beatles classic, "Here Comes the Sun". That patio door is going to be really special! I can't wait to see that put in! We have a couple of bike races through the Rockies over the summer. Our best race is the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Runners race to 14,115 feet above sea level! Crazy people! I think you've made amazing progress in only 2 1/2 months! You've made a new water containment, repaired the well wall, moved more rocks than an ice age (slight exaggeration). Personally, to the commenter and his "opinion" I think your first response works for me. Pushy git! Negative people give me heartburn! You shouldn't be lifting those rocks in ANY condition! A good response is "what's your project?" In our house, we were concerned that something had happened to you. So pleased your physical problem will resolve itself if you're careful.
