I know later on you'd expand the suburb but looking of US suburbs, maybe add some golf courses in the middle, with some wealthy houses around it. That's gonna make it look like a real suburb!!
@skilzthatkilz1112 сағат бұрын
Ooh yes a few people have mentioned a golf course. Could even call it Mar a Lago and it'd fit the theme haha

Beautiful work! That Urban Promenade pack with the mixed use zoning is awesome! I live in DC and I can attest that the new area you built absolutely screams Alexandria, VA with a slight touch of Arlington. Well done! I would like you to know that I have been watching Infrastructurist here on YT since CSII came out. The algorithm brought me to you a few months back and I am so grateful. You deserve more than 7k subs as I think your videos are on par with the two giants of this genre, Infratsrutcturist & City Planner Plays. Keep going and it will pay off! If and when you do the name change, please consider launching a Patreon and/or YT channel memberships. We want to pay you for the entertaining yet relaxing video content! As for the build itself, you have been talking about a revamp of the bus sytem since you built the international district, I think. Maybe it is time now? It may also be time to start thinking about expanding the streetcar/tram/lightrail network. But, maybe that won't make sense until after you get to doing the new downtown.
@skilzthatkilz117 сағат бұрын
Aw thanks @Skotbot! Yes a transit episode is incoming! I had to do a little research on how bus routes are planned in the real world haha. And I appreciate the thought around patreon/yt memberships! TBH I'm not sure how I feel about asking for memberships yet (YT ad revenue aside). I'm just having fun with it, and I'm glad people find enjoyment in it too. Maybe someday if it lets me dedicate more time to the channel. But at the risk of sounding corny, right now, seeing the community respond is good enough for me :) And getting those sweet sweet aerial shots of the city.

I love Dewy del Mar series!!!! I think you should maybe add an airport, even if it's just the regional one it would be a great addition to the city!

Totally, I think I'd like to get more touristy areas first because my tourist population is non existent, but yes this is on my radar!

Your videos are like therapy, thank you. As a structural engineer though, every time I see the Lake Street Bridge something about it irks me. I can't put my finger on it, but I think the bridge towers are too close together. Seems like there are enough supports, but maybe the towers themselves don't make sense if it is meant to be a suspension/ cable stay bridge. Anyway, feel free to ignore.
@skilzthatkilz1112 сағат бұрын
Probably because they're pillars from the 4 lane highway bridge haha. They definitely dwarf that road a bit, I think spacing them out is a good idea

25:37 The two-lane highway from Little Ortizia (Elizabeth highway) can't turn right onto Aspen highway because the angle is too sharp. A right turn slip lane would fix that.

Hey SK, if you want your football and baseball stadiums to appear to be used, try taking any park asset, even multiple park assets. using better bulldozer, delete literally everything off the asset, then clip it inside your stadium. so the "blank" asset still provides the entertainment effect and people will still visit it but it will look like cims are visiting the stadiums
@skilzthatkilz119 сағат бұрын
Oh sweet I'll try that for the baseball stadium. (I used the actual football park for Martians Field)

Morrissey is a play on Morrisons, who are the company that bought out pretty much all the Safeway stores in the UK in 2004. I believe you still have Safeway in the US?

You produce such high quality videos and your builds are excellent, fairly new to your channel but I have been nothing but impressed. I personally think you should change the name of your channel, before you absolutely blow up (because you’re going to). My marketing degree is kicking into overdrive here but brand is everything and truthfully, the channel name just doesn’t fit😂. If you’re going to do it, I’d do it now before you get bigger. Just my two cents. Truly though kick ass channel and videos man I’d wager 2025 you’re gonna see a lot of growth.
