I thought the first boss had no legs and then it was a different story line where you run into one where it does. . . .or maybe I'm confused. I think I am the more I think about it. The Sonic story had the legged one then it was either Rouge or Knuckles that had the leg-less flyer.

Ah, that walker first had me thinking, "That's a Bushwacker from Mech Warrior." but then you did the jump thing then I remembered, "That's one of those human mechs from the Sonic Adventure games." actually yeah, first when I had aero plastic on my ornithopter bird it went really slow and didnt glide well, and then i closely looked at the description of aeroplastic and boat hull, and slapped boat hull on the body of my bird and it worked much better ;P
