The targets are called roundels - the blue outer, white middle and red at the centre being the RAF's specific version. France has red, white and blue, Italy has has red, white and green, India has orange, white and green, etc. The commonwealth countries besides the UK each have the same roundel as the RAF but instead of a red circle at the centre, have a red maple leaf/kangaroo/kiwi, which I think is neat. The US is somewhat unique among the world's major airforces in that it has the USAF badge/stripe on its aircraft wings rather than a roundel.

The RAF symbol (Royal Air Force) does look like a target but it is not a target. Subarus were made for off-roading and they were rally cars, but people actually turn them into street cars for some reason. And I like how drifted, it was amazing.

The reason why the RAF and French air force have targets painted on their wings date back to WWI. The musketmen on the frontlines needed a way to identify easily what planes was theirs and what was the enemy. The French developed the target and the British soon followed suit when they mistaken the Union Jack for the German cross.

The “targets” on the wings are the symbol of the Royal Air Force… like how US planes have the star. The Scout-Bomber Douglas or SBD (known as the “Slow But Deadly” by the navy pilots) was America’s dive bomber at the start of WWII, and literally a flight of them from the USS Enterprise were the first to encounter the Japanese on Dec 7, 1941 as they were flying in to Pearl Harbor unaware of the raid. They had Swiss cheese dive flaps which were opened up in a dive and kept them steady. An SBD flown by a young pilot named Vejtasa was jumped by Japanese Zero fighters in early 1942 and despite being outnumbered 3 to 1, not only held them off for 20 minutes while constantly pulling 9G turns, but managed to shoot down two of them with his straffing guns and survived a collision with the third as his wing ripped through the Zero’s head on, the Japanese pilot intentionally trying to ram him. Vejtasa would become one of America’s best aces, and to this day the folks at Top Gun say “we stand on the backs of giants, and Swede Vejtasa is one of the tallest”. Two good sources are the TV show “Dogfights” episode “Long Odds” and all 10 episodes of the show “Battle 360” about the Grey Ghost herself, USS Enterprise.

I think the reason the water glitch happened was when the plane was spawned, it rendered the water at in relation to the vehicle. The game rendered the water a certain distance from the vehicle. For people who didn't understand, the game thought the plane was at 0 in height. The game normally renders water physics at say -20 in height. He was really higher than 0, say 40, and the game put the water physics at 20.
