I assume people have started complaining about delays because popular delays haven't done anything to prevent the launches from being absolute disasters, so I can't exactly blame them, but delays do help most developers. Plus, those delays probably prevented the releases from being way worse.. If delays were given an indefinite amount of time, it'd probably be better off for the developers and players, developers probably need more time than they're given (extra note, people who are excited for the game may also be upset or skeptical)

idk, i feel like the general vibe is more "god damn it, this is looking like another disaster with a million delays" rather than people complaining about it getting delayed. That my personal take, I really dont like what i have been seeing. That bit where they drive around the city in a 4c straight up looks a bit worst than asseto corsa mods -_-. Not the mention the feature list, they took out all the unique bits that made a TDU game, a tdu game. Like, cool, focus on exploration and building a car collection.... so forza horizon..... crew..... nfs.... like what is the unique thing it has. Forza horizons unique is the vibe and amount of actual car collecting, crew car switching and upgrade mechanics, nfs is also a good arcade street racer. What is solar crown. Forza with 1/5th the car list and graphics worst than asseto corsa with a couple of mods?

Well yeah, we'd rather have it now, utterly broken and unplayable, and begin the cycle of grief asap, rather than give them more to release it, for it to still be broken and unplayable. ARK: Survival Evolved 2 was supposed to be finished and OUT 2 years ago....we only just got the re-release of ARK 1, broken and unfinished, so unfished its in the same state the original was, in early access, 10 years ago. AND we're having to buy the exact same DLCs all over again. Games in general are a fucking joke nowadays

One of the Test drive's signatures is the variation of each car's speed O meter I want them to bring that awesome detail back. and of course don't forget the concept cars like in the first game!

Here's my list: 1. Fanatec/Thrustmaster/Moza support. 2. FFB granularity/Fidelity. 3. Rumble Shakers (layered audio pipeline, very important) 4. Make the city feel alive (not like covid Forza) 5. Telemetry Take advantage of what other series lack, e.g. cozy chill drives, a world that looks ALIVE, and don't give out cars too easily (Forza), but not too harsh either (The Crew), push the map size to it's limit (I cruised The Crew map in under 15mins). This can be the racing streamers home if done right, so much content to pull from.

Thanks Theo for voicing your opinion about "Always Online" games. I didn't get to play The Crew back when it was released, and by the time I had the chance, I can't anymore. Keep loud about game preservation because I'm very sure the developer of these game were passionate so it's should be up to us to keep those hard work being played for as long as possible when the Official Servers are dead, even though the developer very much had the ability to make them run offline but well ig it's really up to us now

I think the community as a whole and specific creators like yourself need to really stress the fact that always online is not something we want for this game. Online can be a tonne of fun in these games but there are countless reasons why being able to play disconnected is important. Especially when you consider the overall lifespan of the game.

An always online game means a few things. 1. The game's lifespan would be limited cause running an always online game requires resources to run the servers round the clock and maintaining them, that could be done by having microtransactions in the game or some form of paid content. 2. Once the game reaches the end of it's life and the servers are shut down, it depends on the game's code itself, if it allows for unofficial offline patches to be implemented, which is highly unlikely but not impossible (this opinion might change if the community is able to revive the original "The crew" like what was done to NFS world). 3. Be prepared for server side issues (being down for maintenance, various connectivity issues and whatnot). 4. Always online means very minimal mod support if any. Keep in mind that both TDU 1 & 2 have a pretty good modding scene till this day. Personally I don't think racing games in general need to be always online, some sort of offline mode should be there, but hey, what do i know? I'm no game developer.

Another factor, people who live in areas with spotty Internet are essentially just unable to play an always online game. Personally, I often just don't want to see or deal with other players ruining my immersion. I love online when I want it. I don't always want it.

On top of this the car feels really stiff and looks like it glides on the road, not reacting to it, doesn't really look to well tbh. No offline, no buy for me, basically. I loved the first Test Drive Unlimited, I enjoyed the second Test Drive Unlimited despite the major bugs that the XBox 360 version had at launch (which I couldn't patch for a few years due to not having an Internet connection for the console), and I would love to buy a third Test Drive Unlimited game but only if it still had offline single player mode. I have no interest in either multiplayer or being forced online, which is the same reason why I never bought any of the Crew games (and I'm glad I didn't bend on my always-online game boycott considering that the first The Crew game was just Thanos-snapped out of existence).

Where you can meet more people and ask to race with them.. talk about life and the game. etc etc.. it makes the game more interesting and fun. Also a Clan and guild system.. I’m personally okay with it taking longer or being delayed because at least it will be better at launch… Most games I feel like are coming out half finished or needing at least 6 months to a year before it should release…. Dakar Desert Rally is a great example of this with it being pretty broken & missing stuff they showed in Trailers I agree with you on it releasing this year especially as you mentioned GTA 6 coming, I just hope it comes out good because another racing game in a new location would be so fun!! I will admit, the live, gameplay demo that you were a part of is a fair bit less professional than what triple-A devs and publishers call for, but honestly, it gives the game a more realistic appearance to what people would expect out of the game, not some either pre-rendered BS that we saw Ubisoft doing in the past or making it look scripted and not so random like in say Battlefield or Need For Speed. There are some things I personally consider as being much more effective for the event than what I'd seen from other developers that make me more excited for this game than I am for other racing games.

When TDU2 came out on Xbox 360 in February 2011, it was awesome!! Despite being a bit buggy, it was very enjoyable, kidding around & exploring. Optimisation can always be issued through updates. My PC has an i7-14700k, RTX 4080, 32GB DDR5, Samsung 990 Pro 2TB SSD.

But it does worry me in that constantly delaying every 6 months for years reeks of development hell and project mismanagement. So hopefull for this game I hope they capture the original atmosphere and expands on the lifestyle flash houses Clothes etc.Forza horizons is so empty and flat and that's being flattering. We need test drive to bring back some spirit and atmosphere to open world car games

If you take most NFS games from the PS2/3 era most of them aged really well even without mods and just the widescreen fix but you can't say the same about TDU2 Atari graphics weren't great it's kind of their "style" just like Bethesda games, they always look 10 years behind in graphics but there's something to these games that make them great.

After what happened with the crew there's a lot of people that would have initially considered getting solar crown but now won't touch it. The devs really need to state if they will make an offline patch available when they shut down servers or enable p2p, or not. What's the point of putting all the time & money into mtx if it's just going to be taken away.

I really hope that they patch in an off-line mode at some point, I don’t know whether or not to expect it and I think I’m going to withhold from buying the game until I hear what’s going on on this front. As a blind guy, the last thing I want to do is go smashing into other people online and make somebody upset at me, I just want to play off-line by myself and have my own fun, I really wish in this day and age that wasn’t too much to ask for.

Really don't care about the delays as long as it's a nice smooth experience when it launches. Besides there are a ton of other games to play meanwhile
