It could be from lying to yourself saying your happy (since that's actually a thing humans do believe it or not, they lie to themselves so much that they forget they ever lied to themself in the first place and actually start believing it) or it could be for various other reasons. Some are too self-aware and don't realize that's a problem. Some aren't self-aware enough and don't realize it's a problem. There's a lot of things. Difference between introversion and shyness. Introverts can be the life of a conversation in a group. They can be highly socially adept. They can be the most genuinely friendly person you meet on any given day. But after too much socializing they need some time on their own to refresh. Shy people look at a group of people and feel anxiety, probably because of self-esteem issues. They are usually introverts but not necessarily. It is sometimes easy for shy people to hide behind the idea of being introverted instead of facing up to feelings of inferiority and taking time to break through walls of fear.

And then there's me, and I'm somehow both. I can both be highly socially adept and a social magnet, as well as extremely awkward, anxious, and unconfident. And then after it's over, I also often replay the moments where I felt comfortable socializing, and second-guess everything I said and did, which then feeds into my anxiety and awkwardness. I love it! 😂 Great video & it's clear that plenty of research on introversion has gone in to it! Someone should make a reality TV program with this idea. I think most people are somewhere between totally introverted & totally extroverted, (even if it's a ratio like 1:99). I also think the pandemic shifted a lot of people more towards the introverted end of the spectrum.

Kroll Show had a funny skit like this. A reality tv show where all you had to do was make one friend but everyone was too obsessed with backstabbing, forming alliances and “looking out for number one”. I love sketch comedy! Imo, Kroll Show and Key & Peele were the two best in recent memory.
