This is exactly the application of the Circuit (I assume it's also relevant to new version Circuit Tracks)! To use it sometimes somewhat like ableton push: arrange everything on the device, send midi to DAW and get sound capabilities of the VSTs et al.

Circuit is by far my favorite midi controller I have. 🔥

Great video. Opens up new horizons for the Circuit! Thanks for posting!

I used the Circuit to control VCV rack using the MIDI over USB 😀

I really dig this approach Gabe. Suggested to me was to record the entire performance to midi, play it back solo'ing individual instruments on the Circuit to be recorded as audio on their individual tracks. Have yet to fully give this a go, however seeing session changes shift at the appropriate times via Reaper as a midi master was like finding the holy grail to me. lol

Niiice! That's exactly the use I had in mind, but was wondering how much it was easy or not to do! And props for using Reaper, since it's the best daw for linux, my os of choice! Awesome! Now, I need a Circuit

Great vid! I’m brand new to Circuit and the whole finger drumming world but have spent years ITB producing music with DAWs (currently Logic) and a traditional MIDI controller keyboard. I wanted to explore this new (to me) world but have mixed feelings so far. It’s hard to get past some of the annoying limitations and creative but complex workarounds, just to do things you can do in three seconds on a DAW. On the other hand, I do love how quickly you can make a simple beat, just with the box alone and some batteries. Even prior to seeking Ng this video, I was thinking that my solution - and honestly, I don’t see another way - is to have a hybrid workflow like you suggest here. Your vids have been super helpful in helping me make the transition, even if I never end up fully in the finger drumming world. Any chance you could make a video on how to ease the way from DAW to Circuit, or how to make the Circuit act more DAW-like?

This feature is super-convenient. I plan to use this heavily in the future. 👏🏾 Random but, I wonder if the Polyend Play can do this. I'd like to think this feature would standard in Grooveboxes with MIDI Sequencers. *Update* From Customer Support: "Direct export of MIDI files is not implemented, however, you can transmit MIDI data into your DAW live by running a sequence from Play+. There are currently no plans to implement a MIDI file export function." Well, I'll just have to remake those loops I suppose.

This is often how I use my circuit mono station. Here is to hoping those leaked images of the new circuits are released sooner than later!

Do you run the resulting audio back into the Monostation, to use the analog filter as well?
@MichaelMoore-bx6st3 жыл бұрын
@@FuZZbaLLbee Sometimes. Other times I just use it as a controller. I'd use the CMS filters way more often if I could run a stereo signal through them. I'm tempted to get an elektron analog heat for that reason.. analog overdrive, EQ plus stereo filters! But of course it's expensive. Maybe when we get a real stimulus check. Lol

I remember seeing someone pitch samples on the Circuit, although it was a pretty complicated process. One of the big music channels (I think Loopop or BoBeats) has an old vid where he shows how to do it and provides a downloadable session.

Very important for newbies like me, you need an FX for audio to come out. What is the FX used here?

Any comments about how the Circuit handles the sample flips on the drum tracks? I think that it always outputs 1 of 4 MIDI notes, but precedes those with CC representing which sample(s) to load...

Hi Gabe Seeing as you are the Circuit guy you are someone who sprung to mind for me to message. Have you seen that there have been a few leaks for the Circuit's replacement? A lot of stores are also saying that it is discontinued so seems to make sense. I know your're not jesus but whats your view on waiting for the new product or buying a used circuit instead? I've seen a few circuits on ebay for between £200-£240 where as the new one looks to be £370 if prices are true
@GabeMillerMusic3 жыл бұрын
It depends on what you're trying to. The new Circuits look dope but don't make the original one irrelevant in my opinion. If you want a lot of extra ability to work with samples or extra midi tracks to make the Circuit the brain of a bigger setup, I'd wait. If you want something more self contained and synth engines based and don't mind missing the extra features, I'd say go with the original if you can. Either way I think they'll serve you well.
