These leaks were already considered fake some time ago but in the "leaker" defense:if he is real,most likely he is using a beta of the game so maybe at that stage they reused Sw/Sh models to then give them a better reskin in the final product.We are also talking about game freak,the same developers that claimed that they would have cut the national dex for "high quality" animation and at the same time they reused Hau model to create Hop,we are talking about game freak let's not forget their laziness and incompetence in modern pokemon games.With that said,probably a fake leak.

Rival chooses first out of 3 works in the sense that, with every playthrough what they pick is random and you either pick the one strong or weak against it. Effectively giving you the choice of an easy or a hard mode.

What if the one he picked, is the one you want. Do you restart the whole game, just to have the chance of getting him, it doesn't make sense. Rather, helping him choose the pokemon suitable for him, would be a better option, as it will still allow people to choose the hard way or the easy way. Without having to reset the game, for the probability of getting your favorite starter.

So in the legends arceus game there’s 2 clans based off the versions (diamond and pearl clan) along with the galaxy team. Well in this game there could be 2 clans based off the 2 versions as well so the X clan and the Y clan. Each clan would have their own respective Pokémon that are similar to the nobles in the other games but they are able to mega evolve. However their mega evolution is unstable and they can’t be called upon at will. This is where the new galaxy team comes to play. They figure out a way to harness mega evolution via stones which could explain why only certain Pokémon have the ability to mega evolve because during that time period only the ones they found to mega evolve; they made the stones for. It could also explain why charizard for instance has an X and a Y form along with Mewtwo because either both clans have their own charizard and Mewtwo or depending on the end game whatever clan you choose to support you make a mega stone for their respective clan.

These are always fun, because even though you know good and well the leaks are fake, it's still fun to talk about how close they could accidentally get to the real thing, things that they could conceivably get right, even if only by accident, and maybe we springboard off of those to come up with new ideas of our own. I've always looked at Electric as an unofficial fourth starter type, so I'm not hating the notion that the rival picks a fourth Electric starter and picks before you, leaving you to pick from the more traditional trio. That'd be interesting as all hell. Also, Ttar, how cookie cutter can Pokémon be these days, considering they gave us Legends games at all? Legends Arceus took the cookie cutter, mangled it into a pretzel, tried to flush it down the toilet, and defended their actions to the plumber.

Rival picking the starter first can work if they _already_ have one when you go to take yours. Like, how Nemona already has 6 Pokemon when you start your game, but while she reboots her save file to become your rival, this 'Chloe' lady's like "Yeah I got my one and only pokemon yesterday, but I ain't gonna tell you what it is until you tell me yours." And then you'll pick your starter, from a separate full set of three, and BAM she reveals hers, just for it to be the one yours is stronger against.

Also, that red Legends' Arceus -at the right side- swipe is there for no good reason, it's just so odd. I mean, good for you if this looks real to you or a possibility to be real but I've played a fair bit of pokémon in my life and to see repeat functions and designs in this, when those are development details, which are, as you say, redundant and be incomplete for a leak, this just makes me frown.

If you go on Pokémon’s social media accounts they always celebrate each games birthday. XY’s 11th birthday is on the 13th. So they might say something then, or maybe in 2025. Switch 2 news won’t come soon, at least not until Mario and Luigi is out. They did the same with paper Mario colour splash on Wii u before announcing the Switch.
