It’s true that BJP government is Hindu Nationalist party and many Indian muslims are/were afraid of it and feels disfranchised, and that is so sad and unfortunate. Having said that what matters most for middle class people is their economic development and better prospects for their children. That is the precise reason for Modi’s popularity. All the problems, including religious issue can be solved only if people are economically empowered. Its so unfair that you are not discussing how Modi has been trying to be seen as not only hindu leader and reaching out to all the communities. Even though unfortunately we know that 90% of minority communities vote against Modi. Below are some examples of modi’s action which shows he is not against secularism of India. 1. There are no additions of any poll promises which are not secular in last two elections, Ram mandir and CAA were 50 years old promise of BJP. 2. He did not give tickets to so many leaders of Bjp in 2024 who were accused of hate speeches against muslims in past. In fact all of them are dropped. 3. There is no accusation of biased behavior in delivery of government services. And I mean even accusations. In fact in some areas of up, which is run by so call hindu Yogi , around 70% of PM Houses were given to muslins because on average muslims are economically less developed. 4. His reach out to 5. Inclusions of many educated Muslims in BJP higher ranking offices, who were real critical of modi in past. 6. His reach to other communities including backward considered Muslims (*Muslims also have cast system in India) and christian on charismas and all. And above all modi is real nationalist (I would say much more than hindu) and he knows it well that diversity is good india and must for its integrity, so he will definitely try to preserve thay.

My request to people in west. Just read about the "Basic structure Doctrine in India". Secularism is part of Basic structure hence cannot be removed even with a constitutional amendment. The amendment itself if brought will become NULL and VOID as it aims to change basic structure of Indian constitution. Basic structure doctrine is the most powerful doctrine that binds indian parliament. India does not have parliamentary supremacy, we have judicial and constitutional supremacy in our POLITY. Also constitutional amendments require 2/3rd majority in both the upper house and the lower house. Even if by this election BJP gets 400 seat in the lower house, what about the upper house? BJP doesn't even have 40% seats there as members there are indirectly elected by Indian states. In short BJP cannot change Indian constitution just with majority in Lower house. And no party will ever get majority in Upper house, except for extremely few instances in our hisotry. So please stop fear mongering and spoiling India's name. We will vote for Modi, and we know who he is, which u clearly don't.
