you could also try running it from a 100W usb-c powerbank with a 20V trigger cable. the original power supply is 24V, however the inputs normaly have a rather big range of allowable voltage drop so it might work, especially because the battery will go down below 20V in use too.

thank you very much for explaining how you make the printer 100% portable, i was struggling with the battery part aswell! much appreciated video :))

Great recommendation on the battery. I picked up a two pack on Amazon and it’s fantastic. 😎 For me, I really like to just power up the printer and go. And the price was right!

USB charge is true portability. If can be charged by usb then is portable.

Just buy a small Jackery , or similar brand, portable generator ( less than $200) . It weighs a couple of pounds. That will provide enough AC power to print photos on this printer for hours. Of course you can use the Jackery for a myriad of other power needs, back up at home and while outdoors.

now that you used the battery. approx how many pictures did it print on 1 charge?

How and where do we purchase the charger, I got the battery only to figure out I need the charger as well.
@CreativelyJeffАй бұрын
@@heathertipper9875 you can charge it from the back of the printer using the printers (OEM) power cable or you can buy a seperate charger from Kastar on Amazon

Hey Jeff, is there any way to tell how many prints are left in a ink cartridge? I know it shows total amount on the outside of the cartridge, but how do i know how many are remaining?
@CreativelyJeff2 ай бұрын
@@2233redwing Sadly, it doesn’t show the count on the printer, you either have to count it before you print or look at the paper trey. It’s one thing Canon needs to add in the next version.

hello jeff , i followed your advice, i got a battery , now i got a question, how do you conect the phone to the printer wireless when there is not wifi? i mean for example, when i ll be outdoors and want to print some samples of my pictures. I have trying to connect them with my wifi router off, but i cannot make the printer to connect to my phone. thanks for any advice .
@CreativelyJeff3 ай бұрын
@@R.C19668 So when you first got your printer you had to download the app and connect the printer via QR code. It uses bluetooth to connect to it’s unique wifi. Everytime you print it will make sure it can communicate with the printer if you are using the app, else if you are on a pc/mac make sure it’s connected to the special wifi. I may make a video going over this if you think that may help.
@R.C196683 ай бұрын
@@CreativelyJeff very thanks for your quick reply. The printer works fine when connected to WiFi, however I still cannot figure how to connect when there will not be WiFi available. I'll keep trying, and of course if you produce a video , it will be a great help.
@CreativelyJeff3 ай бұрын
@@R.C19668 the printer has its own wifi name. That’s how it works outside.

Could I ask roughly how long a full charge last
@CreativelyJeffАй бұрын
@ So I can print about 200 images before needing to replace the battery. Per my use case thats more than enough. As far as how long that is in time, honestly I dont know.

Can the extended battery also charge when the printer is plugged in the wall?
@CreativelyJeff5 ай бұрын
@@Webrisernl Yes you can use the battery while it is plugged into the charging block, and the charging block is plugged into the printer. However it doesn’t seem to charge like the OEM battery mounted to the printer, i mean it charges the battery but it takes longer (a day). I don’t recommend doing it that way. It’s just not the way it was designed.
@Webrisernl5 ай бұрын
So you say the battery can be charged without the battery charger but directly trough the printer too? I ask this because I see lots of batterys for sale online without a charger.
@CreativelyJeff5 ай бұрын
@@Webrisernl that's correct; it just takes longer to charge. I tried this on the KASTAR one, and I don't know exactly how long it took, but the printer was plugged in all day to get it to a full charge.
