@@haynal6369 Basically I mean that despite what Americans like to believe about themselves not only have they never really shaken off a lingering sentiment of white supremacy that has driven public perception and policy over the years but it's only grown more accepted and intense in the last several decades rather than less. Worse yet rather than being the global vanguard against terrorism America likes to think it is it has frighteningly grown extremely accepting of the mindset and methodology that are supposed to define terrorism shifting the narrative so that it's a matter of who does it rather than the act itself. In doing so America has given legitimacy to terrorists on its own soil refusing to call what they do terrorism because they're not the designated enemy or even speak out against their motives because they're exactly the line of thought people are being fed to keep them so afraid of the designated enemy they won't accept peace unless it comes in the form of extermination stopping just shy of the state sponsoring terrorism outright. America's actions are detrimental to its stated goal of making the country safe and the steady slide into justifying making them more extreme just makes America into the antithesis of the heroic image it's trying to project but questioning the image just makes you the "enemy" to which extreme action becomes justified. I can only imagine the comment about background checks have something to do with the gun control sentiments expressed in the other acts of this Full Frontal episode. Otherwise that's confusing me as well. But on that subject I don't think buying an assault rifle should be so much easier and so much more vigorously defended against impediment than the right to vote.
