What a time to be a guitarist. Young new guitarists have so many options to get great sounds now without paying thousands of dollars for a head and cab
@Zwidawurzn3 ай бұрын
Yea, these days new guitarists can choose to buy a pedal at the price of a used Engl head (at least here in Europe). I mean it's actually nice to have the choice and i'm here because the pedal is interesting but i'd probably not recommend this to a new player who's on a budget.
@dylanjastle3 ай бұрын
@@Zwidawurznit’s pretty difficult to get a reliable tube amp for the price of this pedal in the US. It’s fender deluxe’s and fender blues Jr’s that light on fire or break after a couple years. If you happen to find a used Vox or Marshall head for $400, you still need to worry about maintenance, know how it’s supposed to sound and take it to a tech when it sounds wrong, etc. I think these simple pedals are pretty compelling for a beginner that wants a direct solution that sounds professional. No maintenance headaches, no rolling the dice when buying something used. I have tube amps and a load box for a direct solution. I’m not sure I’d recommend what I have to a beginner with $500 though
@13Recon19D3 ай бұрын

@@dylanjastle Ok i can imagine these problems with really old used amps, lol But even when comparing pedals... i mean you have to be pretty certain about it to spend that money on a pedal which does just one amp really well when there's Line6, ToneX, Headrush, Hotone and all these other brands battling with insanely versatile preamp/multifx products which are sometimes much cheaper and not bad either

It won't sound good. You need to use an active speaker. Something like a Fender FR-12 or a PA system. Or through an interface and monitors. You can them on flat channels on some amps too. You can also use the effects loop of a tube amp - some of the cab sims will sound bad but some are ok. Usually sounds better through a real cab with the sims off.
