The Rokinon lenses are like this too. The focal distance is insanely wide but the image is just so dam purdy!! I Space is key, you need a big space to work in. For small spaces not so good.

For real! When I had my 85 t1.5, I had to do the same thing and put macro tubes on it. Not every lens can be perfect lol

The DZO Films 20-55 and 50-150 are some fantastic "budget" cine zooms as well and a bit cheaper than the Tokinas (quite different focal lengths though). I've been shooting with them on a documentary and it would be awesome to own some cine zooms one day

The DZOs are stellar! My one thing that I like about this lens is it seems everyone goes for wide end and then telephoto end, which is great cause it gives full coverage. But I like this lens because if I want to go from 25 to 70 without swapping lenses, I can. I think it’s unique in that sense for cine zooms. But DZO is killing it for sure

@@Ansonandco how did you get tokina to send this lens to you? I've always wondered how youtubers get companies to do that. Also, is this lens usable for run and gun? I need a cine lens for my red komodo. Also, is this lens better than the dzo pictor pairs? If so why?

@@wcsdiaries good questions! As far as getting YTers to get people to send them stuff, everyone is different. But mainly you have to have a following, good content and ask their marketing department. Run and gun? It’s BIG! So maybe if your sporting a shoulder rig but otherwise no. And I do think they are slightly better than DZO, I think tokina has a little bit better optical performance, but how much? That I can’t answer until I get my hands on DZO.

@@wcsdiaries for this lens I have put in some work with them previously to test it out so I can’t say it’s the same for everyone. But it’s a place to start
