A ride in Novi Sad | A Serbian town full of Russians :)

In this video I showed Novi Sad, it's a town in Serbia that's full of Russians. They mostly like it because it has bicycle roads almost everywhere. It's clean, quiet, and in fact other foreigners also live there. Even locals prefer it over Belgrade.

I heard that English is widely spoken in Serbia especially with the younger generation,not sure if that's true or not.Nice area though,I like it!

That's very true. Many young people speak it. Especially in Such towns Belgrade and Novi Sad where many foreigners live and there are many international companies. As well for most of them it's the second language at school. So important to know it I guess. And of course it's always nice to be able to talk with people from any country. As well it's easy for Serbian to go to European Union. I guess without a visa. So they may travel a lot a well.

Ја нисам много млад, али сам учио енглески језик од првог разреда основне школе, док још нисам знао ни да пишем ни ћирилицу, а камоли латиницу. Моја школа је била експериментална и енглески се учио као обавезан од првог разреда.

Glad you got to see more of my hometown than just those dimly lit streets :) Novi Sad actually means "new planation", or "Neoplanta" in Latin. Sad/saditi means to plant. We call that big church "the cathedral" although it's not actually a cathedral. It is a common meeting point.

In that street at 2:06 you passed, though you stopped recording before you passed next to the house where grew up Mileva Marić Ajnstajn (Einstain), wife of Albert Ajnstan. She was also famous physicist and matematician, and she has work with him on his stuff that made him famous

@@halfrussian also one funny thing my cousin a Serb , invented a special kind of concrete, which is very resistant, without it modern bridges would be impossible and so fragile, Branko Žeželj , he invented it and now it is used all around the world. Like you said people don’t know about us, but we contributed so much, we definitely deserve more appreciation.

And Novi Sad is not just a city centre, visit the forthers it is the 2nd largest in Europe, visit Petrovaradin yhe oldest part of the city, Kej, Štrand and so on.

Privet. Yeah, speaking mostly in English, but sometimes in Russian with those who understand it. But generally learning Serbian and trying to understand it, it's still hard to speak it for me. I know some words, some expressions.

@@halfrussian I heard a song in Russian and understood about 20% of it. About a week later I found the lyrics to that song (written in Russian) and understood about 75%. I was so surprised and inspired so I've started learning your language in an informal method.
