Bonnet macaques are the best l! I actually rescued one who was an exploited baby monkey and I don’t know how anyone could be so mean to them. I’ve had her for almost 5 years and she’s an absolute sweetheart of a monkey still.

That's why often times, it's the small individual (perhaps with small canines) who'd be the leader because they need really good social skills to survive. A human equivalent is Napoleon or Putin.

@@BadassBikerOwns I agree but this video was littered with inaccuracies. It was really bad. This wasn't the alpha because the alpha rarely fights in a big troop. The only ones who challenge him are his other members. The females are the gatekeepers anyways. Science is just now finding this out, like at monkey hill in Japan they just realized that a female was the alpha for the first time. I really don't know how it took so long. I guess it's because they follow others bad science to get to their science but I'd you watch any monkey, non great ape, the females ALAWAYS run the troop because they have the numbers.

I still can't describe how inaccurate this video was... it was very very bad. It really missed on every level. They heavily edited the video to show an abundance of mothers picking their young up at the same time. It probably took them 3 hours of videos to capture that 15 seconds.
