Mario party one is still one of my favorites. I never had an issue with palm rotation I feel that’s become kinda a running internet tradition at this point to say that when talking about the game.

5:15 yeah you’re not wrong there. I played a 50 turn game and got the same 3 or 4 1vs3s 4-5 times and 3 didn’t even appear once

Personal Board rankings 8. Bowser’s magma mountain(way too luck based and the AI almost always win the roulettes) 7. Luigi(very low scoring games and the star can get stuck for more than half the game in an awful position) 6. Wario(good but the star landing on bowser’s island is hard to get without getting lucky) 5. Mario(another low scoring board) 4. Peach(good for 35 or 50 turn games) 3. Yoshi(better version of Mario) 2. DK(basic but fun) 1. Eternal Star(most unique and leads to high scoring games)

I agree except for luigis It should be top 4 at least. Yoshis is a fun map and I like it but (competitively) the board is nothing but chaos and the nature of the party themselves are already chaotic. To your point about luigis pipeline, whoever is in 3rd or last should theoretically go get the star next to bowser and reset the stars since that's really their only play but you're right it could be low scoring if everyone's stealing the same star at boo.

I personally have to disagree with a few things: 1. I personally don't mind Bowser taking stars. It adds stakes to the game. 2. This one is partially a disagreement. It's odd when the CPU gets a 1 player minigame, but it's not really bothersome. 3. Mario Party 5 is my favorite Mario Party Game (mainly because of Super Duel Mode), and the boards and things like that are not an issue for me. But to each their own opinions, and I still like these videos that you made.

Opinions are fine but some opinions are sometimes highly favorable than others. the KZbinr here is currently correct on most of his Pros and Cons. 1 Bowser taking stars is BS. Doesnt matter about the stakes. Its too much and unfair. In any Mario Game, NEVER let stars be taken away permanantly. NEVER! 2 the whole point of a 1 player minigame is still BS too. Doesnt matter about a CPU getting one.

Great video, big fan of the series although I wouldn't agree with everything said. Especially stating MP1's Chance Time as "Perfect" since it's very abusable in this game since you can time 2 blocks out of 3 which is enough to have yourself on the receiving hand of whatever you want and for something that can have huge effects like stealing stars for free, it's a bit overpowered for me. I'd also say that it's a bit odd you'd ignore Star Rush when Super is basically the sequel to this one but that more nitpicking than anything. Still a real nice video and I wish you luck for this series of videos, looking forward to whatever this mish-mash will bring up lol

Thanks! I can see where you're coming from in regard to Chance Time, but I just really like being able to choose what order everything is decided in. And as for not covering Advance, DS, Island Tour, Star Rush, and Top 100, I just don't have any way to record them lol. If I get a 3DS capture card then I'll probably cover them, but as it stands I'll stick to the mainline titles.

Watching all 8 videos made me realize just how much you mention that stars shouldn't leave play (most specifically, Bowser just taking them from you). Would you consider a solution that a 3rd party can steal your star (say, Bowser's event in the secret MP1 boards or Bowser Bonus from GC games), but another player can somehow get them back, like on an - " anti-Bowser space " - ?

Waluigi debuted in Mario Tennis (2000, N64/GBC) so that should explain that Waluigi was not in the original MP or MP2. Also, Items debuted in Mario Party 2, and Item Minigames replaced Single Player Minigames from Mario Party 1.

Waluigi, Wario, DK, and Diddy were in Tennis N64. They were unlockable characters. You have to beat them to get them.

nice video bro , cant wait for the rest of the videos , i played a lot of mario party 3 and its my favorite one i tryed 2 4 6 7 8 but the only good ones were 2 and 6 after 3 , and i think the perfect mario party would be like mario party 3 but with more items and minigames, and no single player minigames and some boards from mario party 6

@@tjlnintendo well Windmileville is another MP7 board that doesn't have junctions, you know where you stop to choose where to go, an element i really enjoy. And is a shame because to me Windmileville is one of MPs nice looking boards.

I can't respect anyone that says this is the worst Mario party. It has to be top 5 at least. It's the only party where losing minigames loses coins. This is a great way to stop your opponents from progressing as you can sabotage team games, team up against whoever in 4 player mg's, etc. It's situational but always an option you should consider. Eternal Star is a great map with high star totals, luigis pipeline is the most meta board there is (consistent green spaces, fast track to boo, 10 coins from start after boo, completely avoidable bowser event, everyone is going to have the chance to make plays) Many of the games are broken, I agree but the overall experience can be amazing. Chance time, bash n cash, crane game, offer such good rewards (and ruin someones game) and are always potentially playable giving players hope that they can still win. (if you're in first or last, you'll try to seek out or avoid 1 v 3 minigames). Even if you suck for instance, and cant win many minigames, there are still tons of coin games and easy 4 player team games to get coins, still hidden star blocks, chance time, and the old fashion navigating the board to win. Mario Party 1 has a lot of heartbreak to it (duh) but that's what makes it the most satisfying party to win.

Grab bag is another game as well. Nothing in Mario party history is as hype as grab bag is when the fate of the game is on the line.

Glad, I am not the only one who thinks my least favorite Hudson soft Mario Party is the first game. Well, beside the boards, the amount of content is very limited there. The next games until 8 and DS are definently improving things by things to make it more fun.
