Talking about weekend racing. Its the Bathurst 1000 this Sunday for the Aussie V8 Supercars. That's 6+ hours of live racing around Mount Panorama on the telly down-under here in NZ & Aus (after, of cause, watching SVG in the Xfinity race at the Roval early Sunday morning our time)

The best cars racing at the best track the V8’s at MP, vs our drivers facing NASCAR’s monster of a track with seemingly zero regard for racing. Makes me ashamed of our sport.

Of the very few road courses on the calendar, I think I look forward to this one the second most after Road America. What a great circuit and so cleverly built in the infield and still includes about 85% of the oval itself. Infield has elevation changes, off and on camber corners, walls, grass... it's a fantastic track. Passing opportunities into T1, T5, and both chicanes. This is a MUCH better addition to the post season than Talladega. We're gonna see actual racing and driver skill on display. If I wanted to watch 4 hours of fuel saving I'd take a road trip through a major city at 5pm.

From what I see of the Changes The Wheeler Family has turned this particular race less of a Road Course & turned into a big track race with a small track race mixed in for good measure. Nascar made a huge Mistake taking a Real Road Course out of the Playoffs. I know what I would do with Charlotte Speedway & it would make this race more like a Real Road Course instead of a big track Race with a small track race thrown into the mix
