When the Dowager Dagmar or Maria died in her home country, she never returned to Russia to be buried with her family. However, 3 years after this documentary was aired, her afterlife wish came true when Denmark sent her remains back to Russia to be buried next to her husband (Alexander III) and her family including her son Nicholas II, the Last Czar of Russia and his family.

There is a photograph of her walking up the lawn and curtseying to The Grand Duchess, the daughter of a Tsar, Alexandria was the grand-daughter of a King. A neighbour said when Princess Alexandra was coming they came and paved the road to just past Olga's house.

It is incomprehensible this glorification of the Tsarist Russia, totally barbaric, backward, and half-Mongolian country of Gulags and pogroms. To be associated with Russia in ANY way is beyond disgrace. The ONLY way for Russia to become 'normal' country, Russia has to be disintegrated - all countries, nations and the ethnic groups enslaved by the Tsarist Russia have to be liberated and set free. Unfortunately, the present-day Russia, as we can see today, [ten millions of Chinese crossing non-existent Russian-Chinese border and retaking the stolen territory from China - the whole Siberia, the present-day Russian army is almost 60% not only Muslim but more importantly, the Central-Asian. Moscow stopped to be an European city 150 years ago] is disintegrating in front of our eyes, while Putin is trying to restore the 18-century barbarian Russia in the 21st century.

I always find the subject of the Russian royal family complex. On the one hand they seem to have no understanding of the suffering and struggles of their people and lived in some pretty illusion. On the other hand both Alexander III and Nicholas II were devoted family men who did have positive qualities. A good example of things not being black and white. My biggest what if's are what if Alexander II wasn't assassinated, what if Tzarevich Nicholas hadn't died and had married Dagmar, and what if Alexi wasn't hemophilac.

I have studied ALL Royal Families, and they are VERY INTERESTING. The Russian Royal Family, would MOST LIKELY, still be in power, if not for Rasputin. He had too many people in LOW PLACES. If you trace them back pre 1850, things weren't as bad as they were closer to 1900. When they allowed Rasputin to get so close to them, it sealed their fate. During WWI, Russia was still MOSTLY a Democracy. Lenon, being a Socialist/Communist, and having had ties to Rasputin, basically out of loyalty to him, started the Communist party and The Soviet Union,(Now just Russia, AGAIN), Then add Hitler to the list, and "THE UNITED SOVIET SOCIALIST REPUBLIC." was born. Right now, Russia is NOT, the biggest concern of the world. COMMUNIST CHINA IS BY FAR, more of a danger to the world, and need to be dealt with NOW! After this latest attack on the WORLD, (THE BIOLOGICAL WARFARE),I can't help but wonder if "FAT MAN, AND LITTLE BOY", may PERHAPS have descendents, which should PERHAPS be taken out and used NOW, while we are still able to do so!? Communism killed more people in Russia in a few decades than tsarist regime in a few centuries. There is no political system that is ideal, but Tsarist Russia was on its way to become the world's greatest power, with its economic and demographic growth and its cultural development, it was a very dangerous rival for USA and UK , that's why they were behind those revolutions, not the people. They also had a lot of problems with poverty, race problems,colonialism, so, why they didn't meet the same fate as Russia? He may have matured given more time. His English and Danish cousins tried to convince him to reform but he did not believe that the foundation in Russian society existed for self-government.

You are right that King George V should’ve helped the tsar and tsarina to evacuate but what you can’t forget is that Britain is and was also then a constitutional monarchy which would have left the King in a awkward situation with his Prime Minister as the sovereign can’t just say to the prime minister save my relatives in Russia and deploy a Royal Navy vessel to collect them as it would’ve put the role of the monarchy into question but also that of the government and the navy as their could’ve been more fatalities as sailors could’ve died in the process. So in many ways yes it’s a tough and morally complicated scenario.

I find the original Crown Prince/Tsar Nikolai very attractive. He seemed more intelligent and able to handle the pressure of running a vast country such as Russia while his successor, his brother Alexander III, blocked up developing Russia so that the people could create their own wealth and have more of a say in how life happens for them. Alexander III was closed minded by the sound of this film. His father, the current Tsar Nikolai II, didn't survive long enough to change the lives of so many in his country. How different life would have been had a couple of these royals survived. Crown Prince Edward, son of Dagmar/Maria's sister in England, did not survive to see his wedding to Mary either. That would have changed the whole line of inheritance for the English royals. Imagine that today? Although it may have caused new problems for all we know. Interesting to see how life changes course so easily.

This was really good. I have found so much to help me understand history on you tube. It is funny though I hear a lot of different versions of the Alexander III story, particularly, a Russian produced documentary has Alexander falling for Dagmar over the sick bed of his brother and it being a true love match. I think the lesson to learn from Alex III and Nicky is that Russia does need a strong leader who cracks down on criminals. That is all the Bolsheviks were.

Yes the upstarts saying they are 'doing it for the people but there is always a ruthless plan behind it.... It should remind you of what's going on now. We are doing it for you! Then cause chaos and calamity, keep changing the landscape in the hope of taking people's eye off the ball and causing confusion by the speed of change. The population has no time to adjust. You are watching the latest shenanigans and the Agenda 30 people are doing something else out of sight although they are not even bothering to hide it now it's in your face. It's pattern repeat. Also if the red army, Serbs, etc were so 'for the working people' then why did they take the Romanovs doctor, housekeeper nanny down to the cellar to shoot and bayonet them also...(the White army were less than half a day away from the Romanovs to save them, hence the hurried execution). They were full of vindictive vengeance even against the servants! So much for the story that 'they were doing it for the people'. Funny how the self righteous revolutionaries are completely out of kilter with true morals and ideals. Same as the fake politically correct readers of the Guardian, the carbon footprint mob, Fabianist wokists, Marxists, Socialists, Communists, these lefties have no answer. In Russia Putin still commandeered the dachas, even built one (as yet unfinished) costing multi millions. So the family they eliminated - but they still follow the same pattern, oligarchs making the most of the gas, oil, etc for themselves moving to other cities/countries with the proceeds. The thing that sticks in my gullet is when the English King said he would help his own family then after long deliberation refused to fetch them over here he said because they the German line RF in Britain were worried about a transfer of revolution and unrest BUT it didn't stop them from taking the Romanov Fabergé eggs, tiaras, jewels, money, gold antiquities to the royal houses of Europe for safe keeping.. Danish, English (really German Charles is predominately German - the more aristocratic Diana related to the Tudors, and Catherine have been brought in to anglicise the line, probably to bring in height as well) the Dutch RF, the Swedish & Norwegian RF's all divided the spoils. The Queen has many jewels, tiaras & Fabergé items I believe the tiara Eugenie wore at her wedding was of the Russian Romanovs - but not spoken of - then generations later they bring them out and so they hope everyone has forgotten the provenance of them ... & It's they say its been with them for years! From my research I could not find out if the Spanish RF were recipients of the spoils too. Peace ☮️ out. SW England 🇬🇧

When the former Russian Royal Family was sent to Tobolsk it was done during the time that Kerensky was in power that is prior to the coup that brought Lenin to power. The government wanted to get them out of town to take the heat off. Their conditions in Tobolsk were rather relaxed. The house belonged to a wealthy man named Ordovsky-Taniyevsky whose grandson now lives in London. The problems began when the Bolsheviks took over and they insisted that the family come under their control in Yekatarinburg.

I do not believe that ''pointing the finger'' or playing ''the blame game''. None of us were there, and thus unaware of the circumstances surrounding Russia more than one hundred years ago. As far as the revolution being blamed on Alexander III,, I do not concur. One needs to take a step back and understand from HIS perspective in that his father, Alexander II, was willing to bend to the will of his subjects, only to be paid in bombs. I'm sure this made Alexander III extremely angry and coping with the loss of his father.

For tsar Nicolai II speak people who never met him and this sounds a bit strange. Nevertheless they are his relatives they never ruled or carried any responsibility except of themselves. Nothing is said about different circles in the Romanov family and traitors between them. The unpleasant fact is that nobody tried to rescue the tsar's family. Bolsheviks killed the whole tsar's family in order not to be possible a restoration of the monarchy as happened in France 20 years after the beheading of the royal family. As for the myth of Rasputin and his death it's unconclusive. Some Russian historians did a good research and many questions may be asked. Nikolai Sokolov who led the investigation of the murder of the tsar's family was killed in France, Pierre Gillard (French teacher) who wrote some books was badly wounded in 1958, Charles Sydney Gibbes (English teacher) became orthodox and change his name first Alexey (as a monk) then Nicolai and never spoke a word. The last two men were with Nicolai II and his family in Tobolsk but weren't permitted to follow them in Ecaterinburg ... Boris Elzin ruined the Ipatiev house...

This is interesting bar a few errors, the Dowager Empress never "despised" her sister Queen Alexandra. She just felt they had drifted, partly due to the Queens terrible deafness, forgetfulness & frailty.
@jackr17797 жыл бұрын
It is incorrect to state that as a fact. I don't think we will ever know for certain. Some information came to light about 10 years ago, on a documentary - I forget the name annoyingly - which had discovered that one of George Vs trusted aides was in the vicinity of Ekaterinburg and was attempting to rescue the IF right up to the bitter end. Even the Duke of Windsor, never one to speak up for his father, stated that George V was never credited for doing all he could to rescue them. To be fair, I don't think anyone ever dreamt that they would be murdered in the manner in which they were, it was barbaric and shocking. Lloyd George was often blamed for the refusal of asylum and I think thats accurate as he is know to have welcomed the fall of the Tsar.

There is a gossip that there was a help coming to free Nicolas and his family. That's why all the terrible things happened to Roman. Royal family, and Imperial Gold went missing. There is a very interesting documentary about Missing Imperial Gold.

Dagmar could not know that her nephew and his wife refused to help her sons and grandchildren. No one outside the English government, which had been planning to rescue them, ever knew that King George V and Queen May nixed the plan until recently. As to her other son Michael, he too was assassinated by the Bolsheviks . This is the first time I have heard anyone claim that the Dowager Empress “despised” her sister. By all other accounts she may have become bitter in general, and no wonder, but never hateful towards her sister. On the contrary I’ve always read that the death of her beloved sister Alexandra was the last thing that broke her, and she too died soon after.
@funnysarcasticguy73886 жыл бұрын
@@gf3011 while you are right that Dagmar could not have known British government's secrets, remember she was a 70 year old Dowager Empress of Russia.. she was no fool... she must have guessed something..BUT also since she didn't believe that her son & his family were dead, she certainly wouldn't blame anyone certainly not her sister. I totally agree with you that she didnot despise her sister but there could be certain amount of resenment you know. I have always felt that as the Empress of Russia & Queen of UK, there is bound to be a certain amount of competition between them.

So what became of the Russian heir to the throne and his sister Marie ? No one seems to ask this question. it is known that Marie became close to one of the guards who watched over them in captivity , but everything ends with the death of her parents and sisters , but her remains and her brothers are never found ?
@christynorman72882 жыл бұрын
The Russians said they did find them eventually. But I think they should test again as the DNA checks are improving all the time and the Russian video where they were in a lab testing the bones (and there were top scientists from America testing) I thought it all looked a bit sloppy with the proceedures - then they added the bones crushing them, of one female and one male to test, they said the two bodies were found & eventually brought to rest with the parents and other three sisters. I don't know about Anastasia the woman professing to be Anastasia who with the help of a Serb (& maybe the protection from the diamonds sewn into their clothing as was mooted) she played dead. But there were to all accounts bayonet wounds behind her ear and on her leg near her ankle. I believe they did rest on Prince Philip for DNA saying this Anna wasn't related. But I always take the tales from the RF with a pinch of salt they will do almost anything to stay in power as has been shown from time immemorial. My feeling is with their privileges that should all have a DNA test at birth not just courtiers or the privy council standing there to witness. That would sort the wheat from the chaff. There is speculation that Andrew is from the queen's friend known as Porcie her horse trainer. Philip was found carriage racing in Australia after Queen had Charles and Ann, then he was ordered to come back to have more kiddies as they had realised that Charles was wimpish probably through lack of love from his busy mother. Then Andrew cane a decade after Ann. But it's clouds over a lot of them ... Peace ☮️ out SW England 🇬🇧
