My old ship HMS INTREPID at 12:03. Great ship, great runs ashore as we were part of the Dartmouth training squadron for young officers, so we're on 5 days at sea 4 days in foreign ports routine. As a 17 year old in 1986 it was great until I fell on the flight deck and broke my wrist and into NELSON for 7 months. Loved that also as the josses runner. No duties, every weekend off and Friday finish about 11:30 am. Ahh good days.

Bit different to my day with headphones clamped to my ears listening to pings going out and deciding on echo pitch if it was coming towards or going away. Some of my training was done at HMS Osprey, Civvie bloke called Cock Heron put us through the hearing test. Vernon for my UC2 rate, still only pings. Oh, it was 1954!!
