Awesome. Just getting into using effects with my clarinet, playing at home. This video is a great help. My pickup is on its way from Australia ;-) Have you ever used the C4 synth effect? (Source Audio). Talk about changing the sound of a clarinet! 😱

Yay, that's great to hear! I'm glad this helped, congrats on your new pickup! I actually haven't used the C4 yet, synth pedals are one of the areas I need to explore more (I've only had the chance to play around with Pigtronix's Mothership 2) -- They do some awesome things to a clarinet sound

Hello, great information. I see that the knobs on the effects (D Seed and JHS) processors are not the original ones. What are those others that you use? Where can i get them? Thanks

Hello! Are you referring to the larger silver footswitch covers? They're great for making quick effect switching easier! I can't remember the brand sadly, but if you search "Footswitch Topper" on Amazon you can find them pretty easily in all sorts of colors & styles 🙂

Thank you very much, glad you liked it! I still use my EQ pedal occasionally, I just bring it out for specific instances (ex. If I can't find the specific sound I want for a piece involving delay or distortion, I'll get the EQ out to fine tune the tone). Since my current lineup already uses all 8 outputs on the power supply, I use it as a backup pedal and swap it with something else whenever I need it 🙂

Thanks for the overview, I want to start dabbling in clarinet effects. Do you have an opinion on hardware pedals vs a software setup? (Example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f4KkiZ6NZap4bpI using MIDI pedals and laptop processing) Any particular reason you went for hardware?

Awesome! Between the two approaches I think it typically comes down to personal preference regarding what you find easier to work with. A software setup can offer a lot of effect flexibility and customization (I particularly love the effects that Metaltute is able to get from his setup), but personally I find the pedalboard approach easier to work with overall -- I find it more convenient to travel with as well, I like being able to take the pedalboard with me without worrying about bringing a laptop too. That being said, working with processing software can feel much more natural and comfortable to some players.
