I think for me, my disinterest in Wah is that the filter sweeps are often so much faster than I like....a really slow filter sweep just sounds awesome, especially with a slightly lower resonance.
@danielvalles95542 жыл бұрын
I agree with the second part, that's typically how I use a wah. Try to sweep as slowly as I can usually using the higher end of the sweep more often than the lower. Supposedly you can adjust that with trim pots or something similar on the inside of some wahs, which I've done, since I don't incorporate that Funk/porn sound that everyone seems to immediately bust out the second they start playing a wah.

Yeah I totally get that. I am by no means a pro or even an intermediate level guitarist, but I like to have fun while playing. Bought myself a CryBaby when I first started, and quickly found myself barely rocking it, and doing so as slow as possible. I personally like the mid to high range because it kind of "screams" if that makes any sense. I love how Adam Jones from Tool gently phases his wah and often holds it at the mids for a while before rocking back or forth. Makes you forget he's using a wah for a second.

One other use of wah is as a more static filter. Leave it in one spot or very slowly sweep it without reacting to any specific notes, it winds up sounding really throaty as it catches different resonant frequencies in the input signal.. Works really well going into heavy distortion, or before or after fuzz.

I don't know how I got here, but I'm staying for more for sure. So chill, and love the sound of the wah on the harp, such an odd but perfect pairing!

wah pedal harp is the sound I didn't know I needed in my life.

The wahs sounded amazing on the harp. Even the autowahs. Great use of the pedals.

She should try a Miku with a Digitech Wammy pedal.

Sounds nice on a harp. Have you ever ran your harp through a Leslie cabinet? They are used in tandem with a Hammond B3 organ. You can mic it for stereo and there is a foot pedal you use to change the rotating speaker and horn to a fast or slow speed. I bet it would sound great! ✌️😎🎶

I'm more of an envelope filter fan (I like the Fender Pour Over Envelope Filter a lot) but you did a great job of making the wah work on harp. Another great video!

Thanks so much! I love the envelope filters in this video, but I never tried the fender one!

Agreed, on the envelope filters. My MXR M82 was my favorite pedal. MY EBS Octabass octave divider a close second.

i love her face when she almost realizes the "shaft " style muted strumming hahaha with time i think she could get some cool expressions out of a wah wah

Wah/filters on the harp just topped harp through tremolo for me. Thank you for the enlightenment and beautiful sounds.

I had no idea what to expect there but as soon as you hit the first note I was, "Oh yeah, that works"!! The piece you played with the full set up was beautiful, would have loved to have heard more of it. Lovely work all round, you made a new subscriber out of me 👍

I like how he automatically makes the wah mouth movement.

I love watching videos like this that explore possibilities in sound. Wah seems like a no-brainer on harp now. It would be cool to hear a direct line comparison without the room sound, especially on the waka-waka-chaka-chaka kind of stuff you liked better on the cry baby than the wah. Isolating the sound from the wah without the room noise created by those fast, multiple string strokes on harp would be pretty cool to hear.

I actually kind of like it. Makes it sound weirdly dreamy and floaty.

This video was my intro to your channel and I have to say that I dug it. Super chill with a nice off-beat humor. Also, great call back to HIMYM!

With a smaller sweep setting and a slower movement of said pedal could really allow some extra musical expression.

This was honestly like really incredible. I know I'm an oddity because I don't typically listen to music and really just use it to narrate things sometimes, but this was fire.

The WHACHO definitely sounded the best. The acoustic sound of the instrument was way out front and the vowel modulation of the wah wah is out the back. Sounded great. The others make a beautiful acoustic instrument sound like a slot machine.

The Riff on money for nothing from the Dire Straights was recorded with a locked Wa Paddel and a marshal amp on max. It oozes harmony and maybe that can also be applied to the Harp.
