The scene where Strohl brings up that saving Edeni's life is actually logically beneficial to them while also doing the right thing brings up an interesting thing about his character that not many talk about. Throughout the entire game the party obviously always strives to do the right thing and "help anyone in need" as noted in their campaign promise and often help people even when it seems unreasonable. However Strohl actually always points out that while it may seem unreasonable, in reality doing the right thing often IS the logical choice in the situations they find themselves in. It's not that he's unempathetic, quite the opposite, but he is keen enough to realize that the moral choice and the pragmatic choice are often one and the same. It's a nice and consistent point to his character that helps differentiate him from the other "best friend" characters of other Persona games while also pointing out that contrary to what other games and even real life might often lead one to believe, in many cases simply doing the right thing IS reasonable, thus tying in nicely with the games overall themes.

Fun fact: The soundtrack for Virga Island use a rhythm called "konnakol", a musical art from South India. I think this particolar soundtrack is one of the highlights of this game, as this chant perfectly fits with the rest of the vocals of the game while also feeling very "ethnically" different from the rest of the kingdom. While the OST from Metaphor may be a bit more limited, I cannot stress enough to appreciate the hard work from Shoji Meguro and his team on developing a sound this creative and interesting, narrating the different cultures of Metaphor using customs and tradition from the real world

The mustari’s helment is a cultural thing that they may choose to wear or not, although other tribes do find the helmets creepy. Now I’m not entirely sure if the whole thing was fully explained in the memorandum or from mustari you can speak with to raise tolerance, but either way it’s part of their way of life.

I have to say, I do find it kind of hilarious that you can hang out with your party members before rescuing Eupha. With all the previous story deadlines I felt it was reasonable if the party members were willing to hang out or not. In Grand Trad and Martira there was an active threat in both situations. Zorba was held up in the cathedral, with innocent civilians, and threatened how he was working on casting a powerful spell. In Martira you're chasing after Morris, a kidnapper who could, realistically, flee if we drag our feet in catching him. While in Brilehaven there was nobody in peril in that very moment, all we could do is wait and get stronger whilst waiting for Louis' soiree. Then here we have a girl on her own, in a temple filled with monsters. But it's OK, she's got enough food for four weeks which means it's completely fine for your group to just kick back, with a cup of tea and catch up in the meantime 😆.

The inn is called Golden Deer, and the weapon store is called Shilleka's, both of which is a reference to the same facilities in the town of Etria, the hub town of the game!

For your information, the best way to tell what the game "wants" you to do first is to check the quests' difficulty. For instance, the Charadrius infiltration is listed as more difficult than the side quests in that area, while Dragon Temple is less difficult than the side quests. Just follow the difficulty pips and you'll be good.

bit of a warning ahead of time, you want to do the next main dungeon immediately, which you might be already expecting to do, however this dungeon is very long, about just as long as the grand cathedral if not a bit longer. Also within the dungeon there is a handful of trance crystals including ones that are nearby each other. Some of these respawn enemies that drop magla pills and could be used for money farming with merchant if you want to, so long as you dont break the crystals until your about to finish the dungeon.

On the subject of raising the difficulty, Hard Mode in this game is comparable to a mainline SMT game in terms of difficulty. It at least expects you to understand how buffs/debuffs and weaknesses work and always be taking advantage of them to win and win easially. It doesn't allow much room for mistakes, and it can and will destroy you in ways you may not have even realized were possible. Metaphor is a bit more forgiving than something like SMT 3 Nocturne, because of the rewind mechanic allowing you to restart a fight if it starts going really bad. But it will still expect you to put in a lot of effort to win most encounters and especially bosses. As the old SMT saying goes, if you can't win on the first turn, you should take the fight seriously. So if you do decide to raise the difficulty to Hard if Normal starts feeling too easy, keep in mind it might be a bigger jump than you'd expect.

In case no one talked about Lord of the Lakes yet, they are some of the rarest (if not THE rarest) cooking ingredients to get. The only way to get them is to fish for them using Rat Tails, which are also quite rare to get. You can get more rat tails from cleaning the runner's storeroom (save scum until you get it if needed). You will need more Lord of the lakes if you plan on cooking all of the recipes.

so with the talk od difficulty I will like to mention that this game is a great introduction to the shin megame tensei gameplay more accurately the protagonist point allocation and the half turn mechanic. on a separate note there's a mechanich with you have mostly ignored as you didn't master many archetypes. upon mastering an archetype the game will allocate a permanent stat upgrade to the party member who master the job

I do think the game does give good hints that you should probably do the dungeon first. There is a quest there, and most of the other quests are oddly harder than the main dungeon (as denoted by the diamond ratings) The only question that is easier than the dungeon is Junah's on the snake island. So you could do that first, but you will need to go that way anyway for the other quests along the path. But if you do Junah's quest on that big trip it becomes a 4 day trip, where if you do her quest in a day, go back then the main quest it becomes a 3 day trip as you skip over the area you did her quest. So up to you on how you want to tackle this, but remember stuff does unlock after doing the main dungeon.

Nico for the spire of blind faith dungeon i would suggest doing it After the next arc. Yes, AFTER the next arc for this arc i would suggest finishing up your bonds because for this arc the game doesn't give you a lot of time unlike the previous arc

The new tower is gonna be a great spot to grind once you get dancer archetype, at the floor right before the boos room with the cat the hallway is filled with level 20 enemies which basically means free exp mag & money, along side that, killing them with mage, gunner or dancer will allow you to refill you hp and mp to max fast, just gotta watch out for the one high level enemy.

This is the part of the game where the cost of any new Archetypes you obtain start ramping up. The Masked Dancer is treated like an Adept Class, it costs 8,500 MAG AND requires you to have reached a certain Rank in 2 other archetypes. At this point I’d start focus on Mastering/Obtaining classes that give a Mastery stat buff each character might like. The MAG and exp. economy will become relevant real soon here.

I managed to do this chapter's dungeon in one day believe it or not. i was on Hard mode too. I made the ultimate MP conserving scheme i could possibly pull off. I used every MP saving/recovery mechanic the game had available at that point
