I love that they casually drop the fact that Anelace is related to the giga chad that taught Cassius in the final game in the arc after never alluding to it once before this. That said, you start to notice why some of Anelace's moves are similar to Richard's after that: because while Richard may take his learning from Ka-Fai's disciple rather than the man directly, he and she study the same school.

Really looking forward to all of these games. The art design, aesthetics, gameplay, and story from what I saw looks amazing, so I hope none of them bomb. Never played a Ninja Gaiden game before, but I'm hooked to giving it a try with what was presented. I've been fascinated for a long time by the real world swamps and bayous of the American South, and interested in the spiritual mysticism of Creole and Voodoo culture, so I'm really happy to see these aspects so prominently featured in a game. I can't gush enough about Clair Obscur's visuals. French animation has really been coming up in the world of late, so I'm eager to see what more they have to offer. Ironically, I would've just been erased from that world if I were put in it. And what more can I say about the rebooted Doom franchise? The unfortunate, unpleasant business with Mick Gordon aside, the series has been an amazing good time to rip and tear into demons. I don't see them fucking up here, and looking forward to all the new environments and demon designs we get to have fun with this time around.

Okay, one question because I just realized. The fight with Jin is a duel right? AND Jin is also part of the top 20? So why would the royal magic restrain him if he would attack Bizzle? I can sorta get why attacking Gideux in the beginning of the game would restrain you (as you're a literal nobody...so the duel rules don't apply I guess??)

Heat-resistent boots may give you some sucky stats in some aspects, but they give a massive boost to the most important stat of all: speed. It's not uncommon for people to hang onto them for a very long time. Anelace is kind of a goofy character in this game. She's very much a physical scrapper, but her stats aren't really THAT high and her battle orbment is among the worst ones of the cast. (4 lines and wind slots, which aren't very useful for a physical attacker) She does have a few nice crafts though, including a strength buff whose defense debuff can be nullified with the accessory you found in the lodge, an AT-delay move and a new non-damaging move she uses to gather her plushies together for a group hug or draw in monsters for your arts casters to nuke 'em silly with AOEs. What carries her in this game are her equipment options, or rather equipment option. That weapon you would have gotten IF you beat Richard in the duel. You can (and absolutely should) go back into the Star Door and retry. It gives you some absolutely bonkers stat boosts. And, uniquely, there's a chance very late in the game to upgrade this weapon's power and become extremely strong. So whatever you do, DON'T SELL IT AFTER GETTING IT!!! You might want to start fighting some more. Not just for the Star Door kill count, but also because while experience scales in this game, there's no modifier for sepith. And you'll need lots of sepith to get everyone decent quartz near the end of the game.

I don't know how others feel about it, but I do like that this game mixes up the character orders, giving you ones that you didn't get to use as much in the previous game before giving you ones that you ALWAYS used. It would have been easy to give you Estelle and Joshua right away, but I'm glad they DON'T

Now that you kind of have a feel of how this place works. I will have to tell you that the boss of the third area of this plane has a tendency to crash the game in their second form. I personally bypassed it by using an insta kill move on it and getting lucky. but apperantly you can prevent the crash by running the game in a different mode(x8 instead of x9, or something like that, someone else will probably correct me on that). Thing is, this particular phase of the boss comes back as a regular enemy later on and still crashes the game, kind of annoying, but at that point you should be able to kill them quick enough before they get a chance to crash.

The Carnelia Bracelet you obtained at the Lodge is actually quite useful for Anelace, since it completely nullifies her defense debuff for her petal dance, leaving only her massive strength buff of 50%.

Great and interesting side stories and really deep sozial links were there, especially Heismay, Alonzo and Maria. Heismay was really cool and tragic that story about his son. Alonzo is still interesting and his view about the world and what he became because of it, so I am curious how this will continue. Maria is so sweet and has made new friends in the end. The drawings/pictures from Neuras looks so beautiful and well done. ^^ I am looking forward what will happen next. It´s getting more and more exciting every time. ;-)

TRAILS IN THE CHEST [23/36] [1/36] You remember reading the teaser in Trails in the Sky Second Chapter for 'Trails in the Chest,' but you didn't feel like reading it then. Yet suddenly, you have a craving for more Trails... in the Chest. [3/36] At best, most choose to describe its features in simple terms: a dark, cherry-red wood framed with a steel that was painstakingly etched end to end with florae. [4/36] It is yet to be spoken of in legend, for its mother was a modest carpenter who carved it with no other purpose than to hold a confession. It was never meant for a grand display, but for a quit, sincere love. [8/36] 'I shall await your answer at midnight. From my heart to yours, -Jubilee' [9/36] The story truly begins neither with Genevieve nor with Jubilee, but with the shop in the letter. Located in Bose, cramped between two of the most popular shops on the block, was a tiny, tiny building. [11/36] The face greeted customers with an aged brick that had long eroded to the point of holes; the cracked windows, taped for stability and adorned with cobwebs and insect droppings, were repugnant. [12/36] The place looked less like a shop and more like the newest secret playground for the local children, long abandoned after the passing of its owner. But no; to clarify, it was very much 'in business.' [13/36] Despite first impressions, it was as much a shop as any other along the same street. A shop was still a shop even after it was no longer full to bursting with wealthy customers. Or any costumers, really. [14/36] Before it fell into such a state, its owner was known far and wide even before the Orbal Revolution. He was a carpenter of unparalleled skill, and he was frequently commissioned to bring life to all manner of things. [15/36] Buildings, furniture, instruments, wedding rings... No matter the job, he carved each and every piece handsomely, and each one showed more heart than the last. [17/36] 'Good riddance,' the son coldly muttered as he turned the key to lock the shop. This would be the last time he would be forced to ever step inside. 'I'll bet I can fetch a pretty mira for his tools at the market.' [18/36] The shop and its contents was now his to do with as he pleased, and as far as he was concerned, he would be a happier man if he never had to experience the nauseating smell of freshly cut wood ever again. [19/36] His wife, however, disagreed. She was never on to keep quiet- a trait of hers he normally adored--and tonight, she was no different than usual as she voiced her concerns over dinner. [21/36] 'And I say we keep it,' she said, her stiff tone implying that any other plans he dared to present would be, to put it delicately, stupid. 'Think of all the history you're abandoning. Fifty years!' [22/36] 'And for the thirty-three of those years, I hated that damn place,' he snapped between chewing cuts of lamb. After swallowing, he added, 'Who's going to run it? I sure ain't, and you're no carpenter.' [23/36] 'Sure, but selling it won't help you escape from your father's shadow.' Ouch. There was that sharp tongue of hers. He really did adore it...when his old man wasn't the topic of the discussion. 'We're keeping it.' [24/36] 'No, we aren't. That place is mine and I can do whatever I want with it. And what I want to do is wash my hands of the thing for good!' He swallowed another healthy chunk of lamb, then clack! went his knife. [27/36] With on particularly obnoxious clink, she set down her utensils then glared at him with an uncomfortable firmness that would have a lesser man avert his eyes in shame. She bit her bottom lip before asking: [29/36] The son scoffed upon hearing Jubilee's name. His wife always had a habit of biting her lip before playing her ace in the hole, and there was no finer ace against him than their daughter's opinion. [31/36] Or so he believed. There was a pause in noise after the question was raised, and seconds later, they both heard the flat-footed thumping of their daughter's steps coming towards them. 'Did you call me, Mom?' [33/36] Her candor had won over everyone she met; she may have been an unusual sort, but she had won over both peers and elders alike. She was a source of pride for her parents, and that would never, ever change. [34/36] That was quite unfortunate for the son. A single glance at her curious, simple smile and he knew he would cave to whatever she said. Doubly unfortunate since he also knew who she would side with... [35/36] 'S-So...' the son began cautiously, '...what would you say if I told you I was thinking of selling Grandpa's shop?' ??? (6/12) (1/12) 'Hmm-hmm-hmm, la la la!' Hideko hummed, barely audible over the sound of the vacuum. Suddenly ding-dong went the doorbell. 'My!', she exclaimed. 'Who could that be?' (2/12) 'I'll be right there!', she yelled, switching off the vacuum and running to the door. 'Hello. My name is Sato, and I'm going door-to-door with a special offer.' NEW! (6/12) [50 years later...] The 'Dangling Health-o-tron' swung limply in Hideko's house, forgotten and neglected. It had been purchased 50 years before, purely on Sato's recommendation. (7/12) Each time Hideko reflected on these events, feelings of remorse would wash over her. If only I'd had the courage to refuse that door-to-door bargain all those years ago... (8/12) But that would never have happened. Hideko would never have denied Sato back then. See, she didn't have much money in those days, yet she paid cash for the machine. (12/12) Hideko didn't even wait for an answer; she just flung open the door without care. And there, standing before her, was...

As a big fan of Doom 2016 and a HUUUGE fan of Doom Eternal, I am looking so forward to this game. It will definitely be a big shift in gameplay, but I also appreciate that! And Nico, you definitely should stream a Doom game, but stream Doom 2016. It’s a lot easier to just pick up and play through the game than Doom Eternal, so stream that one first. Doom Eternal has a LOT of extra mechanics and a larger jump in difficulty that makes it harder to just jump in and play through the game once.

I echo with what everyone said here that it’s better for Anelace to win the battle against Richard to get the best reward for her. (Hint: the thumbnail 😁)

I definitely know what Nico means when he talks about Trails fans spoiling everything they possibly can, it's the only fanbase I can think of that does this to THIS much of an extent, which is funny, considering one of the big sells of the series is the over-arching plot between all the games, you'd think it would be easy to understand that lol, but a lot of the times you get the full wikipedia entries of some characters you never even heard of out of the blue.

One funny thing about the EVO opening movie of this game (DO NOT watch these if you haven't finished the game yet) is that Anelace gets tons of screen time, but Zin? completely absent, not even a still picture. nada. Certainly a weird choice.

One little gameplay tip: You got an accesory (Carnelia Bracelet) early in the episode preventing debuffs for STR/DEF/ADF. This does not only apply to debuffs applied by enemies, but by your characters as well, so if you equip Anelace with it you can use her insane 50% Strength buff without suffering the associated loss of defence!

And we (re-)arrived at Le Locle this episode. I missed to comment about it in the SC episode, but I just want to talk about the real world references that this place is connected to. First of Le Locle is the name of a real place, located in Switzerland so we can probably assume that Leman State is inspired by it. Even it's mountainous design speaks for that as well. Secondly Kurt's full name is 'Kurt Nardin' and in real life Le Locle is the founding home of a watchmaker (read orbments) company named 'Ulysses Nardin'. That's all for now, thanks for the episode!
