How lucky you were to have him and how lucky he was to have such a loving family. It's beautiful to see a family treating their dogs like that. Just like the family members they are. I had my first dog from 4-17. We got an ornament that says “Jake left paw prints on our hearts”. If makes me sad when I get it out at first but then it makes me happy seeing all Christmas long

It’s bittersweet. I lost my dog and one of my cats this year. My cat that passed away was my best friend (I’m tearing up now), and it’s her birthday soon as well (21st December). She would have been 18. If you’ve ever heard the term ‘familiar’, that was what she was to me. An embodiment of my personality in an animal, whom would never leave my side.
