Thank you everyone! I'm so glad you all are enjoying this video, it means the world to me. I didn't think it would get more than a couple hundred views but I'm so happy people are watching and enjoying. I'll be posting a new one soon about my career in the Navy and serving under DADT! Be on the lookout!

Cody Boyd are you single?

Cody Boyd As a Buddhist, it’s always been so bizarre to me that Christian people think that being gay is an abomination. In our church, we even have support groups for gay youth. It’s funny because I’m Buddhism, we teach love, acceptance, charity, non-judgment...the basic tenets of Jesus Christ...but yet the very worst coming out stories are around guys who grew up in churches that praise Jesus Christ. It’s such an oxymoron in my personal opinion. PS - I’m really proud of the progress your mom’s made, and her love for you is clearly evident! 😍🏳️🌈

Wow Cody...Thanks for this story you Squid. I was an FMS Surgical Corpsman. HM2 Vietmam era I was honarably discharged in 1980. There was no way in Hell at that time that I could reveal my true feelings for a certain Sailor or Marine, without receiving a dishonorable discharge and given no credit for all the good I did and lives that I helped to save in the O.R.. Though I did have more than a couple of wonderful and unforgetable relationships: it had to be so secret. We were most often scared, yet...it felt so right...and it was. Discretion was always an absolutely must ...yet someone always found out ! Always rumor...perhaps jealousy...lol...our win and we avoided USN trouble. Be well Cody

Nice video, I liked the way you interviewed your sisters and mom. I was wondering if you have a dad that you came out to? You are very lucky to have such a loving and accepting family. I was impressed with your step-dad and how he cut right through your mom's anxiety. I will be interested in how being openly gay (if you actually are open) is viewed in the Navy. I'm sure the environment is so much better than the old days of "don't ask, don't tell." Lastly, you appear to be a really good guy and I look forward to hearing from you in the future. Peace & Love, Michael

Thank you so much for sharing and I hope your narrative may help someone struggling with their journey of self acceptance and coming out. My question to you, regarding your sister married to a pastor: are they truly Christian or just religious zealots? Huge difference as the former would hold no reservations about your identity whatsoever (love is love) whereas the latter would be rife with judgement, ignorance and hypocrisy to varying degrees. I attend church regularly but have a difficulty dealing with religious bigots. Keep posting and relating your story, someone out there needs to hear it.

You certainly have your feet on the ground, and great support from your family. Your sister Crystal might want to rethink her reaction to your coming out; it is not a question of 'condoning' your lifestyle; it's what you are, like skin tone ie can't be changed. It is not an affectation. You need no help from me, enjoy life.

I had all the thoughts and feelings and desires but I did not act on them except for fantasy and masturbation. Take care of yourself and all the best to your future. Andy

Why does your sister married to a pastor call your being gay a "lifestyle"? If you were black or very short, she wouldn't call your skin color or height a "lifestyle". What do we have to do to get the message across that being gay is no more a "style" or "choice" than the natural color of your skin or hair or eyes. You are a handsome man and will be a catch for some lucky guy; 4 years after this video was made, maybe you already are. :)
