There is some research that indicates a number of things that get dismissively termed "identitarian" have neurological markers or indicators. I can't recall if the most current research argues for a genetic basis, but I am passingly familiar with some recent studies that indicate there are minute neurological structural differences that increase the likelihood of homosexuality or being trans. There is also something I remember more vaguely about how the more older brothers a male has the higher the likelihood he will be gay, but I can't for the life of me recall what the hypothesized reason for the correlation was. All in all, there is existing science and ongoing science that does suggest biological or neurological factors may play a significant role in various sexual identity, supporting Lady Gaga's insightful claim that people, straight, gay, or trans, may in fact just be born that way. While it is wonderful to have a growing body of valid, reliable research to demonstrate that these personal characteristics are both natural and not subject to personal whim, our world is still filled with enough prejudice that concerns about using that science to target or root out "undesirable" people before they are even born have to be taken seriously.

This episode made me so angry, even if it's fictional. A scientist's research into "The Gay Gene." is interesting because it would allow you the choice to find out if your child would be gay in their life, at any point, but on the other hand; it's kinda like when the Nazis came to power and decided to wipe out any race that was not "Aryan." which sparked the Holocaust. This research could spark a very serious debate that could lead to a very serious situation. Furthermore, what kind of father would allow his daughter's unborn child to die, if it was GAY?! If I had a homosexual son, I would be so proud of him, I really mean it! Also, if someone did not want their child (regardless of whether it has been born yet or not) because it was gay, I would be more than happy to take that child on as my own, I really mean it!

This sort of problem exists today in China. Parents will abort female fetuses. Why? An economic decision. Due to the way that Chinese society is structured, male children are seen as the guarantors of their parents' future when they retire, while female children aren't. The problem is that this sort of thinking leads to an oversupply of male children, meaning that there won't be enough females to go around when it's time to marry, etc. Frankly, I think that China's issue is considerably more serious than the one you're outlining. Note that I'm in no way defending it, but as I see it, the nature of Chinese and American societies makes the Chinese problem more severe.

Incapacitated persons have no autonomy; The law has developed a multi-step process for identifying who is responsible in cases of incapacity. First of all, I hate the line "We live in a society." Joker was just a horror movie for rich people. Secondly, discoveries have their good and bad. Man discovered fire and with it came warmth and burns. This discovery ended up not being concrete, and yes it could have been used to target gay children if it was true, but only if society allowed it. The discovery was not the problem, it was how people used that discovery. The stance that society needs to stay ignorant lest they hurt themselves with their own discoveries is what led to scientists and chemists being called warlocks and witches.

It's funny to me that people love science so much when scientific research comes up with a theory like this one. What could be the reasoning behind researching something like that? So, at best, science is easily manipulatable, which proves that it's basically the same as religion. In my estimation anyway. Science can too easily be bad.

science is self-correcting and constantly changing with new information to better explain something. religion is static because you have to see it on its terms and no one else's while science is flexible because anyone can prove or disprove regardless of viewpoint. can it be manipulated? yes, by external nonsense not because it's always wrong in it of itself, because as stated and implied: anyone can question it, anyone can challenge it, anyone can test it, and if many others come to the same conclusion as many more, then it is science. Otherwise, then it's wrong. sorry, just really hate it when people completely forget how science actually works.

" people love science so much when scientific research comes up with a theory like this one. " true. truth is only interesting, when it proves what some people already think, or when it's convenient as a means to support some other agenda. it's not what you find, but what you research, that determines what the truth is. the theory dictates what the findings will be. even then; that there's a gay gene could teach ppl that being gay is natural, ofcourse some ppl call it a natural defect. so the truth doesn't even matter. only what people do with that truth. science doesn't care, indeed. scientists don't care about morality, or how their inventions can be misused. it's not their job to apply morality, so the responsability is someone else's. when the 'researcher' said "science only cares about truth" he means he doesn't care, as long as it makes him famous/succesful.

religion is dogmatic, the opposite of science. if you cant tell the difference its a personal issue

Gay gene screening would finally cause the LGBTQ community to be against abortion and would truly force so-called right to life conservatives to stick to their word and follow through on their actions that life is sacred.

Why would the LGBTQ+ be against abortion all of a sudden? And why would it force conservatives to be pro-life?
