I sooo want to visit Scotland. My grandmother said she was 100% Scottish and her cousins would come visit from Scotland and I loved their accents. Funny witty loud women :-)

@ScrapPalletMan thank you for the comment buddy. You're one guy I've followed for a long time and a big part of what inspired me to do videos. Nice to know you have Scottish blood in you. Yes, the women are formidable for sure. It is such a beautiful place, from the Scottish borders to the Highlands. It's an incredible place.

@ScrappingScotland12 күн бұрын
@@empirefinds How do you identify tin?
@empirefinds12 күн бұрын
@ScrappingScotland a by product of e waste processing all the boards contain tin mine gets processed just like the gold and silver. Also old tin has a grey dull look about it. Best way to get a blowtorch if it melts quickly then tin. The garrett apex picks tin out between 54 and 58.

Few pots full of precious here and I just did a first weigh in the other day, 65kg in Ali transformers, 15kg in scrap cable (odds and ends plus thin thin wires) and 30kg light iron in flattened steel shells. I was pleasantly surprised. I’m debating taking some microwave transformers tomorrow.. should I be happy with 0.50 motors price or should I be looking for a copper price please?
@ScrappingScotland7 күн бұрын
@rememberremember3489 if they are aluminium transformers then I'd take them in as motors. If they are copper transformers then strip them. Nice weigh in with the other materials

@@seamusmcelroy8352 sell them on Ebay. That's the only way you will get money for them. Unless your yard takes them as aluminium breakage for the ones that aren't glass.

You can soak the gold bearing circuit boards in hydrochloric acid and over the period of a couple weeks the gold foils will separate from the fiber boards, the foils are usually around 12 carat gold and can easily be melted into a small bar or button.

Your scrap yard is really mean and making money from your hard work . In Birmingham ,we get a high grade for single cables ,and brass is anything like fuses and not separate. I know they all work different and you still have to shop around as lead batteries for instance is worth more per kilo than another local one
@ScrappingScotland13 күн бұрын
@simodo11 definitely buddy. One price for Aluminium is one that annoys me from them and they won't take Aluminium cans either. Apart from that they are good guys there. Peaks and troughs really
