Simon, set a feed bin in a 1x1x1 stone box, stick a leash on top of it and set it to medium range. It will match the range of the feed bin. Set either to visible range. Then build your fence/walls in a neat circle.

So, so glad the guys are back into Ark. And the great thing about the game is you can play it how you want. Eff a bunch of banging rocks and cutting trees for hours just to build something. For us older people with jobs and families it isn't fun to grind for hours - that's what we do with most of our lives. Crank the taming, breeding, and harvest rates WAY up and save yourself time. When all you have is 4-8 hours a week you can spend on a game you don't want to spend it waiting for tames or banging on rocks. You can leave the critter stats and levels the same but tweak the character weight settings to allow idiots like Neebs to actually contribute when things go sideways. Carrying a ton of weight doesn't skew things towards you or really help you win a boss fight - it's just saving time. And again me and the wife are super happy yer' back in Ark - and would love to see you finally finish the map the whole Neebs crew started on. 44 Forever!

You don't need a parasaur, or a paracer. The #1 herbivore tame for berries and general utility, that you can get right now, is an Iguanadon. You guys rarely tame them, and they are just about the best early game tame there is. Fast, decent carry weight, harvests berries well, and infinite stamina as long as you spring on all fours. Phenomenal for getting around and doing early game metal runs. Take a boat out to your nearest metal source, and use the iguanadons as your transport to and from the boat. You'll get in and out in a jiffy. I suppose, though, having your spino now, you might not have to worry about all that.

When you empty a Beaver Dam, always take it all and just throw away what you don't want, it destroys the dam, and allows another one to respawn with more paste, i don't think Dams generate more paste unless you destroy them and a new Dam spawns.
