For me it was also secret, but a few days ago i tried the little button on the left from switch between single keyboard mode and splitted keyboard to two instruments mode. And when i played one accord, it hold it, when i changed the accord, the previous one stopped and keyboard played in sustain the new accord. :-) Classic sustain is also possible to assign to some knop, wheel and so on. :-) This method has advantage that the sustain is scalable from light one to full sustain without pedal.

im guessing that you’re using the Yamaha psrE263 instead of putting paper into the piano and possibly damaging it, you could tap the function button, go to the 12th function and you’ll find sustain and turn it on by using the + button :)

NICE THANKS. I was able to use a headphone jack halfway plugged in. And with my particular keyboard, if you power it on while the foil is already in it, then it'll be in sustain mode without the foil until you power it off again.

What i did.. is get a broken instrument cable and cut the undamage end mono 1/4 TS jack with atleast 4-5 inch still attatch to the quarter inch.. spliced it and short circuited it and put to the sustain pedal input.. u can also put a toggle switch so u dont have to take it out everytime u dont need a sustain..

here's an even easier trick (i use ctk-2200) just turn the keyboard off, hold down the function button and press power, still holding the function button. then u have sustain 😉

I don’t know if someone is going to see this but you can use FUNCTION BUTTON in your Yamaha. Press it until you see the Word SUSTAIN then turn it on with + Button and that’s it you have a fake pedal. and turn it off with the same bottom.

There is an easier method. Turn off the device. Then press the "function" and "Power" keys at the same time. Mine is Casio CTK-4400 and it worked.

Well enough for a permanent sustain. But is quite easy alo to make a sustain pedal, Just need first a 3/8 mono plug from a microphone or Auxiliar audio, with some cable atached. Making the pedal itself is easy, now just need to put an interruptor switch inside. For Casio, Kawai and Roland it is Normal open, And for Yamaha is normal closed.
