Why not put liquid metal on the GPU as well? I have yet to see someone who used liquid metal on both CPU and GPU in one system.

id104335409 you don't need to do that because you are making contact with the heatsink to the GPU die. If it had a lid on it then the GPU heatsink then you could do it and get better temps. But gpus are bare so no need.

id104335409 it’s done less often because there is no ihs on a gpu like a cpu has and graphics cards generally have higher heat dissipation due too larger die sizes so it’s not as needed. Hence the gpu in this video running very cool. But yes it can be done. Just not as effective.

because it's not needed and just adds risk.. while normal thermal paste is non conductive this liquid metal stuff is and getting it somewhere else than the die can fry up things really really fast.. also even under air modern gpus aren't really limited by cooling anymore and those cards under water can oc to their max without thermal issues.. so why would you do it then?

Blocks cool the die directly in the case of GPU's cause they don't have an IHS. Liquid metal only improves temps by a couple degrees in CPUs. Completely unnecessary.

It's important to give your ambiant temps man ! if my room is at 5 degree celcius, nothing will go over 55. My guess your ambient is around 25, but it would be nice to know for the sake of temp understanding.

Normally yes, but if you keep your video card that far below 60 it doesnt matter much. Even assuming LTT had a chilly 18 degree ambient to get the best results you would have to have an ambient of 36 before it had any effect on performance.

agafaba, I don't agree, if it was 28-30 degree it would make a difference in the temps. I am not talking about performance, but temps. Regardless it's very impressive and I was never trying to take that away, but when you do temperatures showcase, you must always provide ambient.

At temps that low you would have to increase the voltage ridiculously to reach a point where ambient would matter. I mean ya it would be nice but linus tech tips has never been the super detailed type and this setup would be overkill for 99.999% of people.

My two thoughts while watching this: 1: That actually looks fucking awesome. 2: Wait...what if the back panel flexes when being moved and cracks? I can replace a single piece of broken hardline tubing, im gonna wager that there won't be an easy way to replace the literal backbone of the case without replacing the entire case.

The manifold is 5 layers and over an inch thick. Some construction workers dropped a steel door onto it during the build and only chipped a corner. The back panel won't break. The aluminum strut would go first. Those are easy to swap out. If you did have to replace a manifold panel, let us know and we will totally sell you just the panel and walk you through the replacement. It would be a lot of screws and a pain, but you wouldn't need to buy a new case. We have intentionally made it modder friendly.

I wouldn't put most designer cases on my desk permanently, even if they are novel to look at for a while, but this is the most inspired case concept I've ever seen. It's as if the watercooling loop is a motherboard and the pump and blocks are plugged into its sockets. If you could apply the same design principle to the cables(run the copper wires through the acrylic panel just like how the traces run through a PCB), you would have something astounding.
