A cool thing Scentbird once did for me (trigger - SA) : One time I received a scent from them that smelled exactly like the perfume I was wearing when I was assaulted. So obviously, I wasn't going to wear it. I checked their terms of service and read that that didn't do any returns or exchanges, but I reached out anyway to explain the situation and see if I could get a discounted next month or something similar. No questions asked, they just immediately sent me my next month's scent for free. I really appreciate that kind of customer service.

I increase my Vit D supplement starting in October and I usually start using my day light lamp every morning around the same time, but I keep forgetting this year. I have been crafting a lot more than usually at this time of the year and that has helped me so much. I’m also leaning into Christmas decorations, which I usually hate, but my child is so invested that’s make me enjoy it a bit

Such a cosy vlog 💛 and thank you for all the tips! My highlight tho is Olive chasing Benett, she already is girl bossing I see 😎 Regarding Olive loving yarn, one of my cat babes is the same. I give her a piece to play with and that she feels included, that usually helps.

Honestly, good for you for trying such a hard complex thing for your first crochet because my first crochet was granny squares. 1000% recommend granny squares over what you’re doing though. The reason why is because you can finish square. It kind of feels like a reward you for your accomplishment because you have something done even though it’s only one out of how many ever you’re gonna make. Then you can put it away come back to it and it’s like you’re eating it little by little getting it done.

I find that making fun new soup recipes helps this time of year. Luckily I live close to my office, so I often invite my coworker friends to come have lunch at my house. It’s nice because it makes the day go faster, we all get a mid-day reset and you’re less tired than going out after work when it’s dark and cold.

I love winter! Here's what I would suggest for you: 1) get some more fairy lights, especially the wee LED ones that you stick behind your tv and plug into the USB socket on it. 2) Crochet some 'collars'. I used to crochet when I was young and picked it back up after lockdowns. You're really fancy whereas I only know the basic stitch. But. Grab a ball of wool. Crochet a line about 7inch or however long you want, then crochet 'til the ball is finished and sew both ends together and....ta-dah! You have a scarf/collar/poloneck 'neck' without the jumper. I now make them for friends. Oh and I'm in the UK. 3). The xmas tree. Go 'Australian' and hang it upside down from the ceiling! When you feel miserable or your mind is going dark......turn the xmas lights on and get all cozy.
@alexiseldredgeАй бұрын
all great suggestions!! i do want lights behind my tv
@elizabethargyll4720Ай бұрын
@@alexiseldredge the crochet collars are a great way to occupy oneself, plus you can make one in 1-2hrs, depending how fast you go. I use the thickest hook with thick wool so that the collar/scarf stands up. Perfect for winter. Over here I'm still waiting to try them in snow! lol I got my lights for £7 from amazon. 3m one fits round my 55in tv. It'll make your lounge even more magical. I have the same computer monitor as you and have them round it. It's the only way I can focus on my writing and feel cosy. Btw, I'm loving how your vlogs are maturing like a fine wine as the weeks go by in your new flat. I see even greater things for you (and Emily). I love the 'chattiness'. Thank you for blowing the auld Blighty winter blues away. x

To help you with the cold in your apartment and when you are outside, you can try making or adding cayenne pepper to your meals. It will do wonders to help you keep warm inside. As far as the apartment, you buy a Terra cotta pot with a hole at the bottom. Get a glass bowl that fit the rim of the Terra cotta pot. Put a real candle inside the bowl and cover it with the pot upside down. I don't know how long it takes to heat up. It could take minutes up to an hr. Have one in your room, one in the kitchen out of reach of the little ones (cats), and soon you will have a warm enough room, you will forget it is winter. Make sure the candle is out when not in use. Don't forget about it, little ones could get burned if you forget about it.

Hi Alexis, it would be great if you owned a home in Alaska and another somewhere in the Caribbean. Where it's mostly summer year around. If you are able to, do it as soon as possible. Then, work on making money for when you become a senior and what you have made is enough to take care of you the rest of your life. That way, at least your elder years, you will not have any more winter blues.

I ask only because every time it comes up in your videos, it sounds to me like the latter. And if that's true, I'd encourage you to give yourself a break, set it aside with a thanks for the time spent, and move on woth your life to hobbies that feel less like a chore. Just sayin'.
