Oh look the Baudelaire's house is edible. And on fire. How tragic. A Series of Unfortunate Events is now streaming on Netflix. You're not going to want to watch.
Food Stylist: Ashley Holt
Chocolate House Recipe:
10 lbs white chocolate
Gold, bronze and silver luster dust
Gumpaste
Gingerbread cookie dough
Royal icing
Shredded coconut
Green food coloring
Black food coloring
Light brown sugar
Buttercream
Vanilla sugar wafers
Thick water color paper
Everclear
Square and rectangle silicone mold
Small square cookie cutter
Fondant/clay extruder
Piping bags
Real or artificial flowers
Airbrush
Lighter
Cut small squares from the gingerbread cookie dough and bake until well done. Once cool, stack the cookie squares with stiff royal icing. Let dry completely.
Make the water pipes by piping royal icing on a piece of parchment paper. One dry, carefully flip the dried royal icing pipes over and pipe over it again with more royal icing. Let dry completely and airbrush black.
Melt white chocolate and pour into 1/4" into the silicone molds. Chill until completely solid and invert.
Assemble the chocolate squares with melted chocolate. You can use chocolate freeze spray to instantly harden the chocolate and help speed up this process.
Once your house is built, add the details with gumpaste and the luster dust.
Make a roof out of the water color paper.
Spread buttercream on the cake board and cover completely with green coconut. Create a drive way out of the light brown sugar. Add real or artificial flowers to the grounds.
Douse house in everclear and carefully light on fire.

Interestingly if you take the oldest sibling (or in Quagmire's case, the first-mentioned member since we don't know which triplet is oldest) of the Baudelaire, Widdershins and Quagmire family, Violet, Fernald and Duncan, in the order they make their first appearance in the series, it spells VFD. Probably a coincidence, but maybe not knowing this series

MegaJames3232 Funny. Because In the 4th episode of Season two Jerome said "Beatrice always said she married me for my money and tunnel" Not his exact words but I know he said "For my tunnel" meaning he could have built it but all I know or can tell is he probably built it and VFD asked if they could use it. Probably did because they were so secret they couldn't go up in the real world and try to disguise them self. A better way to do it? Secret transportation.

Actually, in The End, the Baudelaires confronted Olaf and asked why he burned down their house. He replied with, "Is that what you think?" There are more people on the bad side of the schism that we don't know about. It could be anyone.

You know, I think that the real tragedy is the burning of the cake. Not sure if the baker felt heartbroken over burning a cake that took a whole video to make or if she's just like Count Olaf and took the hard work of making the cake because she knew that the audience was going to suffer by watching her burn it down.

They actually got major plot points right in the to show e.g. In the film klaus burned the paper authenticating the marriage in the books and to show violet signed with her left hand not her write which isn't her hand and then through several different laws doesn't count. Just little and big things like that, that makes the tv show better!!!

Olaf gets more creepy as the books go, it's really at the end of book 5 that he becomes the complete villain we remember him to be, but also when reading/watching as a kid you'll get more afraid of him then you would reading/watching as an adult
@tattie.b8594
@tattie.b8594 6 жыл бұрын
When you're a kid everything will seem scarier than when older, however as a book you don't physically see the actions which can then be left to interpretation, as kids who see him as evil would interpret the act as pure evil. In the famous novella Jekyll and Hyde by Stevenson the original copy was in depth about gruesome and devilish acts however it was deemed too frightening, so lots was removed, however what remained enhanced the story due to interpretation of the reader. If they wanted to see mr Hyde as a vicious killer they would, if they didn't they wouldn't. That's what's so wonderful about books, it leaves 1/2 the story to the imagination. When transferred to screen a late proportion of that vision is removed and clearly dictates what's happened and therefore may appear less scary. Sorry that was so long got carried away!! Thanks for reading though.......
