I have had this chair for about a month. I'm not sold on it 100%. A few things that I dislike about it are the lumbar support doesn't lock into place. Any small movement from my back will push the lumbar support down and I would have to readjust it again. Another negative that bugs me a lot, is that the chair wiggles around and is not balanced properly to the cylinder pump. The unbalancement is enough to return the chair. Some positives about this chair are that its affordable, I purchased it for $190. The back mesh is pretty good and it overall looks nice. Forgot to mention the cushion is not very comfortable.

I have read some people complaining about Myochair that in the normal upright position, the seat back leans too far out backwards almost at a 110 degree angle making it difficult to reach the keyboard on the desk. I have observed in review videos that the Egrochair's normal seat back position is much more upright. Have you observed this difference? Is this really an issue with Myochair? I am holding back my decision to buy this chair only because I am not sure if the back position is upright enough to sit comfortably while typing.
@theadotman42824 жыл бұрын
To anyone else reading... This was the single reason I had to return the chair. It's true that in the most upright position, you are still leaning back quite a lot. But, I had no problem reaching my mouse and keyboard. Enter the headrest. If you look at it, you can see how far it forward the headrest is compared to the backrest. This position pushes your head far too forward and puts you in "nerd neck" posture, which isn't great for your neck health. I had neck and shoulder pain pretty quick whenever I'd lean back and actually use the damn thing. You could just not install it, but your head would still have to be quite forward, in order to balance with gravity. But, it may be worth a shot. Disappointing, since I loved everything else about this chair.

My partner is still using the Myo chair and she likes it. It has some wear marks from sliding the feet out over and over, but otherwise is good. One thing that I failed to mention in the review is that the seatback angle is more reclined than typical, which makes it a good casual chair, but some have reported that they would prefer one a little more upright for desk work.

Great video! I found myself torn between myochair and the avochair. I’m really in no difference with regards to the seat material and the height should be ok with either. I mainly use the chair for work so I don’t think the foot rest would not be useful to me anyway. However, I do think the headrest may be beneficial. I never used any chair with headrest long term though. What your experience using the two for desk work during the day (5 - 8 hours)? Any suggestions? Thank you!
@JakeReevesVideo4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I liked using both for 4-8 hours a day at my desk. The headrest is definitely a nice addition, but honestly, I think the Avo chairs ability to adjust the tilt-tension intensity is more beneficial for the whole day than the headrest is. It helps me tune in the tension perfectly, which is something that has a greater impact than having a headrest every once in a while. But like you, I never used to use a headrest, so if you plan on using it more, that may be different. Good luck! 👍

@JakeReevesVideo4 жыл бұрын
Oh good question! Asides from the headrest, mine is pretty quiet. I think the arms having the internal telescoping height adjustment helps to keep them from causing too much noise - quieter than the loose planar movements of the ErgoChair. The headrest really only makes noise if you're swivelling too much. I hope this helps 👍

So would you say get this or Ergo chair 2?

Depends on if you like the footrest, of the added adjustments of the Ergo 2. Personally, I prefer the Ergo 2 for its tilt tension adjustment, but the cushion is firmer on the Myo, which many people like.

I find I only use the headrest when leaning back and staying reclined for a little while. I guess it would depend if you are already used to having a headrest or not. Otherwise, I would recommend that you go with the Avo chair if that's the one you like the look of the most. Thanks for watching ✌️
@alliebbb4 жыл бұрын
@@JakeReevesVideo Thank you for the reply!! Would you personally choose Ergochair2 over Avochair and Myochair?
@JakeReevesVideo4 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. Budget is a big consideration. If you don't like tilt-tension adjustments, you can save some money and the MyoChair will be nearly as good. Also, if you like mesh seats, then Avo is the clear choice. I've had all of them, and I did keep the ErgoChair 2 for myself because once the money was spent it had the most features. But I would be happy with the Avo (it's with my partner's sister) or the Myo (it's with my partner) as well. If I weren't buying all of them to review and could only choose 1, I probably would stick with the ErgoChair 2 because I spend all day in it, so the full range of adjustments is nice. But my partner and her sister use theirs all day and they love them too.

The ErgoChair 2 is the better chair if you are looking for an office task chair. The Myo doesn't have as many adjustments and it's seat back is a little more reclined - so it's more of a lounging/gaming chair.

Hey Jake thanks for your review! In terms of lumbar support, is the Myo's far superior than the Avo's? I just find aesthetically the avo a nicer chair but worried it won't give me enough support for my 12-14 hour days at the computer.
@JakeReevesVideo4 жыл бұрын
The Myo has a but of adjustment built in, whereas the Avo doesn't. I didn't find the Avo to be unsupportive though. The best of all their chair for lumbar support was the ErgoChair 2 if that is the most important factor. Another thing to consider is that the Myo seatback is a little more reclined than the Avo, which I've seen some people report as an issue. It's almost like the Myo has more of a relaxation emphasis. My partner uses and likes the Myo, but personally I would choose the Avo between the two because it has the tilt-tension adjustment and is a little more upright in its default position.

@JakeReevesVideo4 жыл бұрын
So far it's been holding up pretty well. I will preface this with saying that since buying the Kinn chair for review, the Ergo 2 has become my secondary chair for my 3D printing desk - so I'm not using it full time. But it has held up well. I would say that from using it full time for a few months I did start to notice a little seat cushion softening (which I've since discovered has been a big issue for others - I'm about 175lbs). But other than that, it is the same as when I got it. I hope this helps! ✌️

Since I have access to both, and don't experience the 'bottoming-out' some report with the ErgoChair 2, I use it primarily, but my girlfriend uses the MyoChair. I think it ultimately comes down to budget... If you were planning on the price of an ErgoChair, it would be good - or you can save some $ and the MyoChair will probably be 90% as good for almost 50% the price 👍 Thanks for watching ✌️

Hey Jake, great review - liked and subbed. Just one question if you don't mind, you said that you can lock the recline of the chair into 3 different positions, but later on in the vid, said that you have to keep your feet on the floor to remain reclined which is something to keep in mind if you want to use the footrests. Could you not just lock the recline so that it will stay leaned back? (hope this makes sense!)
@JakeReevesVideo4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Oliver 👍 You're right, you can lock it to stay back, in which case you won't need your feet on the floor. The feet on the floor thing is just a comment on the stiffness of the recline when it is moving freely. I hope this helps ✌️

To anyone reading and thinking of getting the myochair, just get yourself an ergochair. The upright position for the myochair is uncomfortable for doing any work.for long hours, I instinctively sit upright instead of leaning back, and you wouldn't want to because it's not ideal for working.
