I love how you sequenced these photographs! I think the intentionality of the chapters is really significant and shines through when you explain each image. The b&w also adds a really personal touch. I recently found your videos after I started shooting film, and I love your channel so much! It's so calming, and the way you explain the background and meaning of each image is unique and really insightful. Your a huge inspiration to me! Thank you so much for the wonderful content! :))

Ohh sweet, perfect - That's what I was hoping to achieve there, so I'm glad it works for you! And yes, B&W has such an interesting effect of completely abstracting the scene, but simultaneously making it feel personal🤷🏻♂️ Aww that's so cool, thank you!🙇🏻♂️🤗

I love this! The self portraits are so cute and it will be nice to have these photos to look back on in the future. I have been wanting to do a set of portraits of my best friends to put together into a project for a while

Awesome video! Taking the time to record the behind the scenes is great. Memories and moments that are personal and have such a nice story too.

I love this so much because i also like to take photos during our film shoots. And as you said, photographically they might not be that great but nonetheless they are wonderful photo to have and to look at. All these pictures just reminded me so much of shoots i've been party of. I'm also head of a students initiative at my university where we shoot films and i just wish more people would take photos during shoots.

I recently got a Pentax K1000 and some Agfa. I'm so excited to see what my pictures look like. This video was just beautiful. To capture authenticity is truly art. I'm a very sentimental person, so I absolutely loved it! Did you use a light meter for all the pictures?

I like this style of documentary photography, when a I'm out with a bunch of people shooting we end up taking shots of each other as we're setting up for a shot or some other just random nonsense. It's fun and you end up with some nostalgic photos

Hahah that random nonsense is the best!😂👌🏼 They'll be great to look back on🤗

Perfection doesn't matter. In fact, it should be avoided. What's really moving is authenticity. These are fascinating even though I am not emotionally invested. I also think that a small film camera puts people at ease. Great work man! Very special! Nan Godin style 🤟
@teocrawford3 жыл бұрын
Yes! The imperfection seems to even enhance the authenticity👀 I'm happy you could enjoy the series, even though you have no emotional attachment, because I was hoping that this would work, but seeing as I'm totally attached I found it hard to determine whether it worked or not🙌🏼

I had no idea you were in film school, that’s dope! I am starting filmschool in one month. Would love to hear about your experiences + tips for a beginner filmmaker :)

Something I found very helpful is to basically ignore everything I knew. Just come into the mindset of "I know nothing" and "I can learn from everybody". By doing that I believe you become more open minded for the stuff you're being taught (of course don't forget to critically think nevertheless). Therefore the overall learning experience becomes more pleasant I think🤔🤷🏻♂️

@@teocrawford thank you so much! And that makes a lot of sense. I have the feeling that I should already know so much but this calms my nerves a bit haha :)

How did you get your friends to be comfortable with you just asking pictures? I love the idea of documenting my life but I feel like everyone changes when a camera is pulled out and they’re uncomfortable around it and uncomfortable with having their picture taken in general? P.S. I love this video and the shots you got!
@teocrawford3 жыл бұрын
Honestly I don't know how comfortable they were, because I often caught them on surprise😅 But all in all I never felt like they didn't like it, that I snaped a photo of them. This might be due to all of us being film students and a couple photographers? So maybe we are all used to cameras around us and being in front of cameras as well🤔 Thank you!🙇🏻♂️
