Gerry Lindgren and Emil Zatopek were the two greatest warriors of training in running. Nobody did the miles those guys did. It was like they had incredible recuperative powers to be able to withstand the rigors. Both were winners and amazing competitors. Lindgren's injuries caught up with him, unfortunately.
